Sonny sat at the end of her four poster bed staring warily at the angel. The angel was lying on top of her royal blue bed spread motionless. Cole had said he was a warrior so why had he not fought back. Sonny frowned at the man. He was more than capable of holding his own against her. Maybe he was faking it trying to gain access to the Underworld and destroy it. Sonny looked at him more closely. She tapped his cheek quickly. His head moved away from her hand as if it repelled her touched. She sneered at him.

The door to her room opened making Sonny jump. "Sorry sweetie. Cole said you needed me."

"Is he really out? I don't think he's faking it but he could be right?" Sonny asked her mother.

Kade laughed. "No, you got him good. He's out cold." Sonny sighed in relieve. Her mum perched on the bed beside the angel and placed a hand over his chest and the other over his forehead. She closed her eyes.

Sonny felt the warmth from her mother's healing gift. It reminded her of when she was five and Cole had had a tantrum and half of their house in the human world had collapsed on her, shattering her tiny body from the waist down. It was the first time her mother had used her gift on Sonny. Cole wasn't allowed any pudding for a month. She had teased him mercilessly when she had been given her own pudding. Mum pulled her out of her memory.

"You hit him in the heart. It's difficult to heal him there. He's fighting me as well which doesn't help. I can't heal him in one sitting, Sonny. Combined with the amount of dark energy you hit him with, where the blow was directed and his unwillingness to let me help means his recovery will be slow." Sonny looked at her mum's weary face and nodded.

"What do I do? He can't stay in my bed."

"The Master of Light will be here shortly. I am hoping that he will be able to help." She replied. "The boys are on their way." She added. Sonny tilted her head. Dad must be talking to her. They had some special telepathic link that Sonny couldn't hear. Apparently it was a mate thing and their connection was on a whole other wave length to telepaths like herself - not that Sonny wanted to eavesdrop on her parents' conversation. She grimaced internally.

The heavy oak door creaked open and her father and Cole appeared.

Cole looked more like their father than Sonny did. They had the same tall, lean build and tan skin. He had dad's black hair but it was shorter and spiked up with hair gel. His cheek bones were less angular and his face squarer and his eye brows fuller – like mums. The freckles that scattered Cole's straight nose and cheeks when he was a kid had faded slightly with age. He had mums royal blue eyes which Sonny had always been jealous of.

Sonny caught Cole's eyes and gave him a sheepish grin. She broke the contact when her room lit up in a pristine white glow. "Greetings." The Master of Light tipped his head at daddy, who nodded back.

"What did the angel want with my daughter?" Seth said.

The Master of Light looked at Raphael and then met Sonny's gaze. "He had a message for you, Sonette."

"My name is Sonny."

"Why him? Where's Gabriel?" Seth demanded. "Why didn't he come to me?"

"There is a new prophecy involving Sonny. I sent Raphael because Gabriel is not strong enough to defend himself against Sonny if she were to attack him." He paused and glanced at Raphael. "She is strong for a demi demon so young. Raphael is a skilled warrior and not known to be defeated so easily...even if he was not fighting back."

"The prophecy, if you please." Daddy ground out between clenched teeth. The Master of Light composed himself. "Lilith is back. She is gathering an army of undead and she is growing stronger with each day. There is a war coming."

"What does this have to do with me?" Sonny asked but she already knew she would be the one to face the deranged demon woman.

"In the final battle you will face Lilith. Darkness will rise and darkness will fall." He said.

"But we are both made from darkness." Sonny frowned.

"I am sorry Sonny but the prophecy is unclear as to who will be the victor in your battle." He smiled at her sympathetically.

"So what do we do? When will she make her advances?" Cole who had been observing from the corner, asked him.

"Prepare yourselves for battle. You will need all the help you can get. She is still gathering her army and it may be weeks, maybe months before she makes her first move." He answered. "I will take my leave now. Good day." He nodded.

"Wait! Not yet!" Sonny interrupted. "What about the angel? You're taking him back with you, right. He can't stay here."

The Master of Light paused. "Ah, yes. Raphael, unfortunately I cannot take him home. He is filled with dark energy. He will not be accepted into my domain until he is cleansed. He must remain here until he is pure."

"He's fighting my touch." Kade looked apprehensively at Master of Light.

"Perceiver, child. He will heal in time." He said. A bright light followed him. Sonny looked away and when the glow died away, she opened her eyes and looked at her parents.
