The Undivulged Academy
by Egwuji
Genre: adult, romance, supernatural, mystery
Content warnings: graphic sexual content, murder, death, implied parental abuse
Note: The reviewer was only able to read roughly 90% of the novel before the book was taken off of Wattpad due to an agreement in a contract.

Like its thrilling predecessor, The Undivulged Academy keeps readers on their toes as main character Scott, a young, sex-loving man, is plunged into the world of demons and vampires and tries to solve a murder mystery before it's too late.

What I enjoyed:
-The main characters of this novel were intriguing and dynamic, keeping the story entertaining. While Scott was definitely frustrating at first glance, especially with his addiction to masturbation, his growth throughout the novel is believable and even his addiction is given some depth. Hannah, the main female character is also well-rounded and while she often falls into the trope of being the "smart girl" of the group, she has other strengths and faults as well which deepen her character.
-The story is fast-paced, which makes the novel easy to follow if you're looking for a quick read. For the most part, the author does a fine job balancing action, dialogue, and description while keeping the story moving.
-I loved seeing Ian in more depth. Ian was the main character of the previous novel in the series and the portrayal of his complicated relationship with his brother Albazar is definitely a strength of this tale.

What I thought could be better:
-While the story being fast-paced is definitely a plus, there were some parts that did feel too rushed. Occasionally, some scenes were too sparse in description, making it a bit hard to understand completely what is happening or to feel the emotional impact of the situation. Additionally, towards the later parts of the book, Ian's opinions towards Albazar do not seem to be given as much depth as the first half of the book appeared to promise. Another area that I felt wasn't given as much attention as it could have been is Scott's relationship to his addiction. [SPOILER ALERT] Scott decides he wants to try to heal from his addiction about three-quarters of the way through, but this isn't referred to again, at least in the parts I read. [END SPOILER ALERT].

Overall, The Undivulged Academy is an exciting sequel to The Undivulged Son and does a great job bringing together old and new characters. While the novel definitely struggles to go completely in depth in some areas, the characters keep the tale entertaining.
