○○の主役は我々だ! (○○ no Shuyaku wa Wareware da) is a Japanese group that posts live gameplay videos on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube, officially formed on April 1, 2016. According to the members, this group is a "secret society planning the creation of the world". They are commonly abbreviated as "Warewareda", "Wrwrd", or simply just "d!".

The group is notable for having a large amount of members (14 official members, compared to most other gameplay groups which usually have around 4-8 members) as well as the wide range of games they play and their variety of other contents, such as roleplay skits, science demonstrations, and commentaries on certain topics. Aside from making videos, they have published other original works in different medias such as magazines, games (both analog and digital), and manga. They also frequently participate in events such as Comiket and Nico Nico Chokaigi.

Many of the members are well-versed in History, and conversations will often include historical material. guffawing, name-calling, vulgarity, and internal gossips. They are characterized by a friendly, carnal atmosphere. Many of the members are actual acquaintances who were subtly connected only by hobby, and apparently got together in some inexplicable way, offline, online, or through friends of friends. Due to the large number of members, they don't all get together, but many of them can edit videos, so they post more often. Most of the members are smokers and speak in Kansai dialect. There are currently 11 active members.

History

Wrwrd's formation began with the opening of Gruppen Führer's Nico Nico Douga account, as well as the release of the video 同志スターリンの笑ってはいけない世界革命日誌 (Dōshi Sutārin no Warattehaikenai Sekai Kakumei Nisshi, lit. "Comrade Stalin's World Revolution Diary That Shouldn't Be Laughed At") on October 19, 2010. At that time, Gruppen, who was interested in History and spent most of his student years playing historical simulation games (especially the Hearts of Iron series or "HoI"), decided to enter Nico Nico Douga to support HoI's AAR (After Action Report) wiki after its decline of interest. He would make commentary videos on HoI gameplays and invite his friends and colleagues to join. Initially, Gruppen only planned to make subtitled videos. However, he started to get interested in "Yukkuri" videos. On September 1, 2011, Gruppen posted his first Yukkuri video, titled 第二次世界大戦の主役は我々だ! (Dainijisekaitaisen no Shuyaku wa Wareware da, lit. "We are the Main Characters of World War II!") which is a collaborative HoI2 gameplay. The video was a huge hit, and Gruppen's popularity increased. By then, more people joined on making collaborative videos with him.

Etymology
The name of the group literally translates to "We are the Main Characters of ○○!". The "○○" refers to any given topic (e.g. their early Minecraft videos are titled マインクラフトの主役は我々だ! or "We are the Main Characters of Minecraft!").
