Hitoranran
Debuting alongside Koneshima in the Hearts of Iron video "We are the Main Characters of World War II!", he is known for his high player skills despite only having played the game for a short time before. He is also known for his good sense of diplomacy, carefully avoiding conflicts as much as he can. Unfortunately, he is currently inactive, and was last seen in a Minecraft Werewolf video from 2018.
Personality:
As mentioned above, Hitoranran has a good sense of diplomacy. He is very compassionate and tries to avoid war as much as possible. He also never forgets to thank people for their assistance, and usually gives double the amount of assistance in return. However, he doesn't take it well when someone backstabs him. When that happens, he becomes ruthless and thirsty for revenge. This is how he earned the nickname "Revenge Demon".
Behind his respectable façade, Hitoranran actually gets scared easily and has low tolerance for horror games. This video of him playing Outlast with Utsu-sensei is the biggest and most well-known example of this. However, it is said that he has 'a killing intent and alcohol' to make up for it.
Appearance:
Hitoranran is an adult man with jet black hair and black eyes. In his appearances, he can be seen wearing a pair of glasses and sometimes a white military hat.
His standing picture is roughly the same as his actual appearance, except he wears a white Imperial Japanese Navy uniform and can be seen carrying a katana. He also wears a white mask with a red "X" drawn on it, which is regarded as his most iconic accessory by fans.
Fictional Counterparts:
Below are some depictions of Hitoranran in various works.
Cthulhu Mythos TRPG
Hitoranran doing a kick
Hitoranran is one of the players in Wrwrd's "Cthulhu Mythos TRPG with Rich Personalities" video series, playing as himself. His appearance is similar to his standing picture.
Isekai no Shuyaku wa Wareware da!
Currently little is known about Hitoranran's counterpart in this story, as he only appeared in the beginning of the story and was nowhere to be seen after the nuclear war. However, he is said to be a believer of Libertarianism and there seems to be a connection between him and a post-nuclear war autonomous region called "Hitoranburg", which may imply that he will have a prominent role in the future. His appearance in the visual novel is exactly the same as his standing picture, and his appearance in the manga isn't that far off, with the only difference being the red "X" on his mask, which is colored black instead. In this manga, Hitoranran is a young boy in his fourth year of elementary school. Much like his classmate, Utsu-kun (based on Utsu-sensei), Hitoranran also gets caught up in the scientific experiments of their eccentric teacher KuRaRe. He seems to be quite perverted, and can be seen reading erotic magazines at some point. He has spiky black hair, and wears an outfit composed of a white T-shirt, black trousers, and a pair of sneakers. He also wears glasses with opaque lenses and the same mask as his counterpart in the other manga.
Etymology:
Apparently his name is a combination of "Hitler" (ヒトラー) and Ran-pig (らん豚), a Japanese meme coming from the fanbase of the video game Fantasy Earth Zero.
He's the only member whose name is completely written in Hiragana.
In Minecraft, he loves farming, chickens, and horses.
Unlike the other members, who are mostly from the Kansai region and therefore speak in Kansai dialect, Hitoranran hails from the Kanto region and speaks standard Japanese.
He became a hot topic among fans during the run of the Medusa System TRPG series where he made a cameo (he didn't actually appear in person, but he was illustrated in the background) in the first episode.Images/ Gallery:
