"R/nnnnnn!" You groaned as you heard a very stuffy, and childish voice scream from the other room. You set down the white, plastic medicine bottle on the kitchen counter, and wiped a glistening bead of sweat rolling down your forehead.
"What is it now, Power? I'm preparing your medicine right now!" You called out to her.
Power had gotten sick again after staying outside under the hot, summer sun when you all went out to the swimming pool. The pink-haired fiend refused to put on sunscreen, claiming that it felt slimy and gross on her skin; which resulted in her coming home with a severe fever at the end of the day.
You did everything you could to help tend to your roommate's sickness so Aki didn't have to. You stayed up all night placing wet towels on her forehead, swiping down her burning arms and legs, and you barely got any sleep for a long span of five entire days. It was frustrating whenever Power whined and complained, but you knew that the more you took care of her, the faster she would heal. So you didn't say anything, and just hid how irritated you were.
Today, you thought of one thing that might help Power heal. Stew.
Normally, other people would make chicken noodle soup for colds and all that, but really— what was the one thing more superior than that?
A warm bowl of fresh, hearty stew, spewing with aromatic herbs and seasonings and potatoes and meat.
Who could resist that? You thought.
And so that leaves you to where we are right now. You were busy in the kitchen all day making your grandmother's famous stew that she always made for you whenever you were sick.
The sound of boiling soup echoed throughout the entire kitchen, and the delicious aroma of your famous stew inside of the pot wafted around the air, mingling into your nostrils. You hummed quietly, proud with how the stew was turning out. You watched as pieces of tender meat floated around at the surface, along with a few disguised vegetables chunks.
So far, so good, you thought your yourself. At least I can cook something and save Aki the work.
Waking over to the stove, you opened up the lid of the large pot and stirred around the soup with your handy wooden spoon.
"Hmm. The stew smells great. Maybe another ten minutes before it's ready— this should definitely do the trick." You closed the lid, and returned to the kitchen counter.
Another oblivious whine came from Power's room.
"I don't wanna take my medicine!! It's nasty!" Power said, shaking her head.
