Chapter 8

[Nina]

I walked out of the room and down the hall. It felt so good to be clean.

Even though I looked calm, on the inside I was about to fall apart. I could only think about Maria and Kate. I know that Austin was right about what he said. But still I need to talk to them.

"Nina!" I heard Austin running down the hall. "Here, you left your bag."

"Thanks." That's the millionth time I've almost left my bag somewhere.

"What's in there? I almost broke my wrist trying to pick it up."

"Oh, um let me think." I had to think of what I carry with me. "Makeup bag, phone, phone charger, bottle of water, candy, advil, tissues, mini sketch book, pencils, pen, beats, camera, ummmm."

"Whoa, I just wanted to know what made it so heavy, not its entire content." He walked in front of me and to the elevator. "Oh yeah, and when you said you hadn't eaten since you where at the air port," His mouth shaped into a smile. "You where lying. I paid for pizza earlier."

"Why did I run into someone so smart. I thought that act would work on you."

He chuckled and pressed the lobby button."You're a good actress. I'll give you that ."

I stepped into the elevator and punched his shoulder. "Thanks."

[Austin]

An hour after our little argument over food, we got to the air port. It was fairly big, and there were very few people there so we could just get to our plane and go.

"Austin," I heard Nina from behind. "would you mind if I call my friends?"

I looked at her for a moment. Her eyes started watering and her lips started to tremble. What els could I do? "Do they have their cell phones with them?"

Her face lit up. "Yeah." She shoved her hand down her purse and pulled out her phone.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her inside. She didn't even notice that she was walking. You could see how Much she was concentrating. "Need some help?" I asked. She had been scrolling through her phone for five minutes.

"I need my glasses." She said looking up at me and handing me her bag. "Could you get them for me? The case is bright red, you won't miss it."

She continued looking at her phone. How was I supposed to find a tiny glasses case in this huge bag?

"Sure." I opened up the bag and the first thing I saw was the case. It was so bright. She wasn't kidding. "Here." I handed her the case. She opened it up and pulled out her glasses.

The were small and blue. She looked good in them.

In reality, I never found people that wore glasses attractive. But, Nina just wore them right.

"Hello?" She asked.

At first I thought she was talking to me. But she was talking to her friend. I guess I zoned out.

"Yea, it's me. Where am I?" She looked at me as if looking for an answer.

I shrugged and whispered,"Just tell her what happened."

She nodded and went back to her phone. "Well, it's a long story."
