Part 1
unmapped!🪓
Lalisa flicks her jet-black hair out of her eyes, wary and fleetingly tired as she gasps out a breath, dropping the decade-old-axe that her asshole of a cousin owned with a clink against the wooden floor. The eerie vicinity is empty. From outside, the location is practically unknown to the people passing this route, a hundred miles from downtown. A ghost of ink in the map.
She looks at the body beside her shoes, blood gradually spreading like wildflowers. Their eyes were unresponsive, monotone and lifeless as its cheek was firmly pressed against the cold. This is the greeting that she wants to give to Jungkook beyond the veil.
Her plan worked. Lalisa feels her chest bloom in bliss, offering a calming tide of blush on her face.
She just killed Jungkook—her former lover. The bastard who'll burnt the desert into a thousand suns. He, who hides a deceptive knife, her unfaithful partner, now lies in the ruin with the crimes he buried with apathy. Lisa takes a few steps back, her knees jittery in the act as she feels the bitter tang of blood reaching her tongue.
With disgust, she spits it out, wiping the scattered blood on her lips and few dots painted on her face with the back of her hand.
It was a good minute, a couple or more so, when tears begin to shed. The first fall runs down to her cheek like a touch of a ghost, free-falling without feeling anything, her senses were numb as she forces them out of her with a vacant guilt.
There is no actual guilt. She shouldn't feel any remorse, nor shame glancing at the man who caused her misery. His chest was open with a narrow cut, running from his neck to his bruised abdomen. Blood is everywhere in his skin, few were clotted as the fresh ones still rushing out of his body to flee. Lisa is pleased at her triumph.
When she hears a small movement from outside, she freezes. Waiting for something, someone to show up or barge in. But then nothing came. Sauntering near the abandoned pile of hay where she hid a fuel container, she grabs it, opening the plastic lid with haste as she starts to pour the content around the barn.
Jungkook was a decent man when they first met, but after a year of chasing storms and serene, his true form came out promptly. A monster personified. He slept with Lisa's colleague Taehyung; he caught him dealing with crooks as their closet was full of unknown illegal drugs, a disloyal hitman of the governor, now a renowned wanted criminal. Lisa had enough with all his bullshit and lies, playing cards with the authority, with her feelings, and now she's ending it.
Love can do so much more, Lisa admit there that there was not a time she is not in love with him. But things drastically changed and she fell out of love. And she'll never ever gonna restore it back.
Throwing away the empty container, she put her hands inside the pocket of her denim jeans and fishes out a metal lighter stolen from her father.
She slides her thumb down to the small wheel as it strikes the flint, the wick now catching the flame as it partially illuminates her face in the young twilight. She steps outside, tosses the lighter to the gas as it light up instantly, the flames quickly eating the dried materials. Lisa removes her stained jacket, letting it burn to the body she offers to the fire, leaving her in her white t-shirt.
"Be one with the demon, you fucker." She whispers, as she left the burning barn.
The sky is beginning to show off a hue of purple and pink, the sign of sunset. She walks quietly, because she had to no other option to do. Lisa left Jungkook's car along with his burning flesh she do not want to see again. A glint of contentment flashes in her eyes as she walks out with buoyancy.
She faces the asphalt road, grateful for the lack of vehicle, but also hopefully waiting for a passing car to ask a free ride.
