"anyone except helen, please answer the question on the board. ethan, it's on the board. page 67."
helen pouted. it wasn't her fault she was amazing at math and wanted to educate the others on that matter. after all, it's easy, right?
being uninterested in the responses of her classmates, she fished out her pathetically faded wallet from her pocket and carefully unzipped it.
she was scared her grandmother's gift to her mother that her mother had secretly gave to her would tear, and end up being symbolism or something.it wasn't nice, not at all when you compared her wallet to those of her idiotic classmates'. they all had smiggle wallets with fancy designs that helen was incredibly jealous of.
that was until...
"hey, helen? can you lend me 80 cents for recess, please?" her desk neighbour, ivan, pleaded. she avoided eye contact and passed him the amount he needed.
ugh, it was stupid when everyone knew you as the 'piggy bank' and the 'math nerd'. everyone came to you for this.
"actually, uh, do you have $1?" ivan murmured, not in the way you think he did. he did it sheepishly, like he had been caught red-handed in a crime.
"yeah, i do," helen replied in a monotone, counting the amount of coins and their worth in her wallet. oh f-
"actually, i don't."
"oh, i see, nevermind then," ivan laughed, momentarily filling her with some light-heartedness. ivan was wholesome in a way that no one else was. he didn't bother to press on demands or anything like that. he was simply wholesome in ways she couldn't describe. after all, she had no experience of being so wholesome.
as ivan treaded 轻快的脚步 to the canteen, helen felt loneliness that other living things likely would not feel.
(轻快的脚步 means light steps)
she despised her labels, yes, but what was she doing to get rid of them? nothing, absolutely nothing. who was to blame this time?
but... but... her coins.
they weren't just coins.
at least, that was what it was like-
A/N::
I'm getting seriously attached to this. I'm forming my own story and procrastinating on writing a backstory for this OC for an applyfic. If you have songs that fit these themes:mixed feelings
no love life
faking happiness
lonelinessplease suggest I need it for the character.
