The Ace Team was picked up by twelve, and by two in the afternoon they were in the middle of the ocean.

Caesar was cutting out some crabs, Chisei was pulling out some white wine, and Johann and Luminous spoke strangely, exaggeratedly. As they often did.

Doll, much like them, behaved as she does, standing far away from anyone, uninterested, unbothered.

But instead of her calloused hands, she stared at the bright blue ocean for a change. That blue she knew well. It was the same ocean that she had once drowned in. Could she do it again? Would it be successful this time? She wouldn't need Renata to push her into it, she could very well do it herself. And when she looked at the waters more and more, it just felt like staring into her friend's eyes. Oh, how she wished she could just jump in! For the cold waters to hug her lungs once more and drag her down to the ocean floors to only release her back to the sun once she was gone, her heart dead and body light.

But Caesar called for everyone to eat. She was never one to disobey orders.

"Gentlemen—and ladies! Come and try this Hokkaido-style grab king!"
Rightfully impressed, a polite and admiring clap was given by the others.

"Enjoy, enjoy!" Caesar added.

Luminous couldn't contain his excitement. "This is delicious!"

Johann couldn't contain his realism. "Is this our last meal?"

"Senpai, could you not jinx this mission please?"

"You won't have any, Doll?" asked Caesar. He was looking forward to his compliment.

She continued to stare at the water. She saw no fish, which was strange as they were disguised as a fishing ship. Perhaps it was because of the sky that now reflected on the waters, it was cloudy and grey.

She never answered him.

They went off to make a toast without her. "With this glass of wine, I wish for our mission to be a complete success!" Caesar said with his pearly whites in full view.

In view also came a strange conglomeration of ships. Interconnected, huge, and complex, the large ships only appeared larger and larger as they came along.

Chisei did the introduction. "May I invite you to appreciate this joint venture between the Ganryu Research Centre and the Hodaka Construction Institute; The Unsinkable Sumeru Throne."

Boom lifts, cranes, and what appeared to be missiles, all placed atop several ships. Truly, the construction was a technological marvel. MC, due to her fascination, could hardly contain herself from asking any questions. When had it been built? For how long? What even was the structural plan like?
