Your whole body felt light as you left the school building, you felt as if you were hovering over the gray clouds that lingered above. Every breath you took was refreshing, the crisp air shooting through your throat cleanly. You started to skip, ignoring the low rumble that sounded from the sky.

You hummed a random tune you made up as you skipped along the rigid sidewalk, trying to balance yourself while walking on the very edge of the curb.

A loud crash interrupted your little song session as you lifting your head in panic. The ground seemed to shake before darker spots splashed onto the monochrome pavement.

It was raining.

A loud yelp escaped your lips as the cold liquid started to come pelting down. The heavy droplets continued to drum on your back until you came across a shady looking building.

It looked like an abandoned shed some pot-head would be living in.

You winced slightly as the wind started to pick up, slapping its deathly temperature hard against your face, the storm progressively getting worse by the second. You sucked in a breath as you approached the creepy shack.

It was when you went to put your hand on the small wooden door you realized what poor condition the shack was in. The door was nearly torn off it's hinges, the wooden planks so loose they were basically trap doors or an escape to the darkness under the house.

The wind behind you seemed to whisper, the forceful draft trying to push you into the shelter. A loud creak erupted from the floor as soon as you entered the hideous room. Many blankets were strewn all over the floor, a singular broken lightbulb remained in the middle of the floor. A torn couch remained against the peeling wall coloured a sickly yellow.

It smelled terrible, like sour milk and eggs. You gagged, trying to cover you nostrils with your (f/c) sweatshirt.

To make matters worse a bright flash of lightning made itself known through the chipped windows. You sighed heavily, deciding to get comfortable in (which you hoped was) the empty room.

Few hours had passed, the storm was still coming on strong. You fiddled with your sweatshirt, hoping it would soon turn into suitable weather to...I dont know, WALK in.

You wanted to go home, you wanted your moms warm cooking, the clicking of Sun's nails against the floor when he approached.

Your stomach begged for something to eat. That's when you remembered the lunch your mom packed. Digging through your bag you found a half eaten sandwich, and empty juice box, three strawberries and a quarter of a granola bar.

Trying to think reasonably through your tired state, you ate the rest of the granola bar, and one strawberry. Trying to save as much as you could you put the rest of the food away.

Your whole body shivered as the chipped windows allowed the freezing wind to infiltrate the shack. A rustle interrupted your hopeless cowering, the sudden interruption catching your full attention.

As hesitant as you were, you tried to turn your whole body to see where the suspicious sound came from.

"Hello?"
