I admire her
her youthful glow
her confidence
her wise innocence
I long to be her
have her smile
her blue eyes
her soft skin
I know her
she is my mother
a warrior
embellished with time
my tears
my burdens
she has carried for me
my heavy
sapphires and diamonds
she has never thrown them away
instead she has told me
she loves me
every day
that these things I see
in these photos of her
she sees in me.
in my smile
my brown eyes
her wild
child
her old soul
her daughter
innocent but wise
her daughter
will have a daughter some day
and I hope she loves me as I love my mother
as much as she loves me.
I will love her.
