As you've seen in the last two fics, a lot has changed for Luna Dust. Little did she know that it was just another recipe for disaster. After summer camp she goes back to school. When the new kid shows up her expectations were crumbled to pieces.

*

"Alright students, we have a new student that will be joining our class today. Patrick, why don't you introduce yourself won't you?"

...

"Um, hi Rick. I just wanted to say sorry about what happened in the hallway earlier. Do you maybe want to hang out with me and my friends at lunch?"

He turned his head and gave her a glare. She couldn't tell if he was feeling anything at that moment. Most likely confusion.

"Y-you don't have to if you don't want to. I was just offering. You can do you, man-"

"I never said I wasn't going to join you."

*

Rick seemed nice at first, but his true self came over him, overwhelming Luna.

*

"That Rick kid is no good. I can sense it."

"Come on Hazel you say that about everyone! Maybe he's just shy!" Harper, Luna's Emotions/morality said in Luna's defense.

"I highly doubt shy people would call someone who bumped into them an idiot! Luna didn't do anything wrong!"

"Settle down both of you! Someone might hear you!"

"No, they won't, I'm sure of it!"

If only Hazel was right then things wouldn't have to escalate.

*

"Who are you? I've never seen you here before."

"I'm just waiting for Luna. Now go mind your own business."

"Heh, you must be her nerdy friend hm? Well, why don't I just give her a little warning."

His warning wasn't going to be pleasant and Sage knew it. She just gave the boy a blank stare as she saw the snake herself behind him.

*

"If you lay a single hand on my nerd you're done for."

"Who are you!?"

"You're worst nightmare if you don't back off."

Things might take a turn for the worst or for the better for them.

"Luna, I think someone found out about your sides."

"I knew someone was watching me yesterday."

*

So they decided to take it out on each other. Fairly this time.

*

"Meet me behind the school building. Whoever gets the other on the ground first wins."

"FIne. Let's make sure it's fair then. We'll go over rules then."

"What's the fun in it with rules."

"It's just the fact that their cant is any backup. People can be there. They just can't help unless we actually need it."

The fear.

*

"I-I don't think I can do it."

"Then why did you agree to it?"

"I don't know, okay!?"

*

And the problems within it.

*

"Are you actually going to do it, Lu?"

"I will."

*

It scared them both.

*

"Rick, please. Enough is enough. I get it. You're tired. I'm tired."

"I'm not tired! I can still-"

"No you can't you lost, you're pinned to the ground. Just listen to what I have to say,"

*

Will he ever accept the fact that he can't walk all over people?

*

"Can we just be friends? Even just for a day?"
