Mason POV
It was Christmas morning in the Portsmouth household, you had made the journey down two nights ago, you didn't fancy driving down on Christmas Eve, your christmas was the same most years, you only spent it as a family.

Christmas was your favourite holiday, and it would always be, it was your favourite season ever, your inner child came out.

You had got your christmas presents early, the month december always was the busiest period, there seemed much more games. You knew if you didn't get the presents early, you would never get them.

You were woken up at about 7:30 by Summer, she started jumping on your bed while shouting "uncle Mason", you tickled her down onto the bed "its Christmas" she shouted "I know it is, do you think Santa will be there?" you asked her, she nodded her with a wide toothy grin.

She helped you get up, and skipped down to the living room, where you saw your family "merry Christmas guys" you said, mostly just letting them know that you were awake "morning honey" your mum said.

"TIME TO OPEN PRESENTS" Summer shouted, boy was it too early for people shouting, "yes, let's go" you said, going over to your pile of presents.

You all opened your presents at the same time, Summer had the most presents, Santa had treated her well, he had even ate the cookies she had left, and drank most of the milk.

You had got a ton of stuff, you had a gift card for your favourite food place, you were very very happy.

"There's one that came for Summer, but I have no idea who it's from" your mum said giving her a present, she opened the present very fast, pulling the paper off, the present ended up being a barbie, which was a statue of liberty, "wow that's so cool" you should see how happy she was.

"That's from Olivia, the first time I met her, she was helping me put Summer down for the night, and we got talking about this Barbie, and she mentioned one she got from her dad, which was her childhood and it was that one, she promised she would get Summer one for Christmas" your  sister explained, it made you smile, knowing she kept her promise, it gave you some warmth.

"There's a note" you said "Hi, first off I'm having this present got out to you, thank you for the Christmas cards, I never got them till later, I had a massive leak in my house, and was forced to move out, and my mail was still getting delivered to my apartment, hope you guys are having a great Christmas, and spending it with love ones, wishing you well in the new year, and best of luck with the football" Signed off with her number.

After you had read the note, it made you realise how much Olivia cared about your family, you made a mistake, it's not even like you cheated, but you left her to think that, you could been spending Christmas with her, having the best time of your life, with the love of your life, but instead you were left single, and she could flirt with anyone she wants, and you can't say anything because she broke up with you.

"that's well nice of her, make sure you text her for us Mase" your mum spoke "sure" you replied, you grabbed your phone and sent her a message, wishing her a Merry Christmas, and you thanked her for the gift, and the lovely note.

You headed upstairs and went for a shower, it got you thinking about a few times, the time had flew past, you got changed into grey joggers and a t-shirt, and headed back downstairs, but before you could enter the kitchen you couldn't help but hear the conversation going on.

"he lost her, he was a dickhead for that, meeting up with you ex, when your your girlfriend at the is fast asleep in your bed" you heard your sister say, "He has never told us what actually happened, it's all rumours" your heard your mum say "the rumours seem true, she wouldn't break up with him for no reason" your mum replied, you walked into the kitchen like you didn't just hear them slag you off.

"so when is lunch?" you asked "it will be ready in less than half a hour, if you want to set up the dinning table, feel free" your mum smiled, as if she wasn't slagging you off couple minutes earlier. You just smiled and nodded, there was no point fighting on Christmas Day.

You made the table up, and played with Summer, she had a ton of new toys, that she wanted to open and made a big mess, you came around the toy Olivia got her, it made you smile, you knew what you needed to do, you needed to explain, and talk to her, and try get her back, even if it took you the rest of your life, she was the love of your life, and you couldn't imagine your life with anyone else.

Merry christmas eve eve
