(Yeji POV)

"Jihoon, calm down!" I said, dragging him away from Soomin who he was currently cursing at.

Soon after the ambulance arrived and it took Y/n in it, they allowed me to get in the ambulance with them but Jihoon had to follow in his car.

The ride to the hospital was chaotic. Tears were starting to form in my eyes and Y/n was breathing deeply, like it was hard to do so.

When we arrived Y/n was rushed to an emergency treating room and I was left to wait outside.

Minutes later Jihoon was running towards me at full speed.

He stopped just before me and bend down hand on his knees trying to catch his breath.

"W-Where is she?!" he asked.

"They took her into that room," I said, pointing at a room just to the left of me, "they're are checking her up right now. All we can do is wait."

Jihoon nodded, still out of breath before taking a seat.

The room was then filled with awkward silence.

As time passed, a question had appeared in my head, a question for Jihoon.

I didn't want to ask him as he seemed to still be angry at that girl and look troubled enough, but my curiosity got the better of me.

"Jihoon?" I said.

"Yeah?" he said, looking up at me.

"Why do you think your ex-girlfriend was at our company and do you think it was a coincidence that she crashed into Y/n?"

He thought for a second.

"Well, I wouldn't put it passed her if she did do it on purpose. She's spoilt and will do anything for what she wants. But I'm not exactly sure why she was there."

I nodded, "Do you think she was there for you?"

"99.9% change that she was, I mean why else would she be there."

I nodded again.

I looked up from my phone when I heard the door open to see a doctor.

He came out and stood in front of us.

By the relaxed look on his face I hoped that Y/n was alright.

"Are you 2 family members of Y/n?" He asked.

"Umm, no but I'm her best friend and he's her sorta boyfriend."

Jihoon gave me a look.

"Okay, does she have family members and have you contacted them?"

"Yes, I've contacted them and they should be here in the next day or 2."

"Okay that's great. So I've got some good news and some bad news."

"What's the good news?" Jihoon asked, wanting to hear something that will somewhat cheer him up.

"Y/n is alive and she will survive."

I smiled.

"But, the bad news is that she fell into a coma and we don't know how long it'll take her to wake up."

My heart sank.

Y/n falling into a coma was not as bad as her not making it but it was still bad. At least at that time.

As soon as I walked into the room Jihoon rushed over to her side while I was quite dazed at what happened.

It was weird to see her in such a weak state. Ever since we were young Y/n was always the stronger one, the one who looked out for me, but now for me to see her in such a state made my throat tight.

Jihoon was sitting on the chair beside Y/n and was holding her hand, rocking back and forth, staring at her face that was pale, she looked weak, fragile even.

I only then remembered that I had to update the news to Y/n's parents. I got my phone out to call her mum.

(Jihoon POV)

I sat there still holding onto Y/n's hand, not wanting to let go.

It was already 1am. The hospital only allowed 1 night visitor so I told Yeji to go home as she still had work tomorrow.

She argued at first saying she should stay since she is Y/n's bestfriend, I didn't budge and in the end she let me stay.

I couldn't fall asleep, my mind was wild awake thinking about all the possibilities that could happen.

The police had came earlier, asking questions about the car crash, they had also asked about my past relationship with Soomin.

I tried my best to answer each question with the truth. Even though I knew I didn't do anything wrong I still couldn't help sweating like crazy during the whole thing.

They thanked me after the interview and said that they would look into it after that they also interviewed Yeji.

Yeji's took much longer than mine because she was the one that actually saw it happen and was the first one at the scene.

I couldn't fall asleep and wasn't even going to bother try to get any. So that's what I did sit in that room. For a whole night.
