Jinx heard the snap of a bone, but felt no pain.
she slowly opened one eye to see...
That the snap wasn't a bone. Another oak branch was on the huge fox. He still struggled upward, but then yet another trunk hit him in the head and it was all over.
Jinx glanced up. 2 cats were in the tree. They climbed down slowly and stepped over to Jinx. "You said you'd distract it..." Sky smirked, looking down at the injured she-cat . Sky's companion was a friend that Jinx had made long ago, Sandy. Sandy toke care of her as a kit when Log and Tansy went on long hunting trips.  She stood wide-eyed at Jinx.
"Take that smile off your face! You two could have died!" Sky grinned even wider. "Who cares? Jinx caught a fox!"
Jinx peered up at Sky. "What? You and Sandy were the ones that killed it!" Sandy shook her head. " We wouldn't have caught it if it wasn't busy with you."
The Orange she-cat looked back. "We need to get some more cats to carry the fox, and to get the the branches off it..."
