Chapter Two: Civil War

It's been a year and things are going amazing, I feel like I have more control over my powers everyday and Wanda is doing amazing too. Nat taught her how to mask her accent and hide in plane sight now that everyone knows her from Sokovia. Honestly it's really weird hearing her voice without the accent but kinda sexy too not gonna lie. Cap, Wanda, Nat, and Sam are all gone on a mission in Lagos; I always worry about her even though I know she can handle herself. I'm her girlfriend, it's my job to worry. I keep sitting in front of the TV waiting for news to arise of The Avengers because we all know wherever they are the media follows. It feels like forever before a breaking news story floods every news channel in existence. Breaking News: Captain America and The Avengers have blown up a building in Lagos, civilian casualties undetermined. In the background they play footage of Wanda using her powers to contain an explosion, she misfires and it goes straight into a building.

"Holy shit", I say as I set the remote on the coffee table

I'm in disbelief as I see my love drop to her knees in pain after realizing what she just did. I immediately pick up my phone and call Wanda, it takes a few tries but she finally answers. All I hear is fire trucks and chaos in the background. I hear the panic in her voice as she tries to explain what just happened and her thick accent comes flooding back.

"Wanda? Honey? It's okay, you're okay. I know you didn't mean to do it, you were just trying to protect everyone", I say as I try to sooth her over the phone.

She rambles on for what feels like forever before cap takes the phone from her hand, "Ivy were on our way back, tell Vision to get the meeting room ready", he says before hanging up the phone.

I immediately turn off the TV and run to find Vision, I bump into him in the hallway and tell him everything that's going on. He pats my head and reassures me that it will be okay. He then races off to perform his duties given to him by Cap. I pace for the next few hours in my room waiting for them to get back when I get a text from Wanda saying their approaching the compound, I race to the meeting room so I can be ready when it starts. We're in deep shit and we all know it, every government is going to try and dismantle The Avengers. They all enter the room with signs of the previous fray all over them, the smell of a campfire lingers on their clothes. Wanda comes and sits next to me, she doesn't say anything but I can tell she's anxious because she won't let go of my hand.

"Alright guys, we all know what happened back there and we all know it wasn't good", Cap said as he put his shield in the corner of the room.

We spend the next hours talking about what to do if the government comes after us, we come up with a bunch of plans just incase some of them fail. Wanda doesn't talk through the whole meeting which is understandable after what happened. After the meeting I take Wanda back to my room so we can talk. I sat her down on the bed and took both her beautiful hands in mine,

"Love please talk to me, I know this is hard and I know what happened was really bad but it's not your fault. You have to believe me when I say that, I know you didn't mean to", I say as I rub my hands on her cheeks.

Tears flood her eyes and fall down her face and I wipe each one as it falls, "Ivy I'm a monster, I killed innocent people, I killed children", she says as her breathing becomes more panicked.

I don't know what to say, I don't think I've ever been in her situation before. I take her in my arms and hold her while she sobs into my chest. It's the most heartbreaking thing when the woman you love is in pain and there's nothing you can do about it. She cries until she eventually falls asleep in my arms and of course I'm not going to wake her so I settle down and fall asleep too. I wake up to a flood of texts from Cap and Nat saying that Secretary Ross is paying us a visit and that he has a proposition. I wake Wanda up and tell her what is going on.
