Cross and Lust were the only family members that were close by enough to take care of the fifteen-year-old Paperjam. He had told them about Fresh, but he couldn't really give exact details on how to find him. He honestly didn't know where Fresh's house was in that forest, but he also didn't want to send cops there to die. He even warned them not to go... That Fresh was already angry with him running away and lying to him the way he had!

Of course, this didn't stop a pose of cops traveling in the forest to never be heard from again. Though, to their credit, they hadn't blamed the teen for their demise.

Cross and Lu had both agreed that PJ needed a therapist to talk about what had happened in the forest. They didn't want him to live a life where he was just scared that Fresh would come back. They knew he had nightmares from how often he stayed awake till he couldn't help but go to sleep. How he would jolt and jerk in that sleep... It was saddening.

The two had also taken him to see a doctor, to where it turned out, he was somewhere cold enough that it had actually froze his vocal cords together. Him trying to speak was forcing them to separate, which was why there was blood. After talking it over with the teen, they decided on a surgery where PJ could at the very least whisper to people as the vocal cords were basically set in place from years of not talking. Maybe with some vocal therapy he could talk normally, but no one was really sure about that.

After all of that, PJ had to take a test to see if he could be put in High school or he would need to be put in a recovery course. He actually had scored higher than most kids his own age! To which, he explained that Fresh had actually started teaching him somethings. For whatever real reason, he didn't know, it was still helpful though.

Jam wasn't allowed to advance beyond his peers, but he didn't mind. He knew that he would need to learn to deal with people and large groups... Which was something he was having a problem with after spending years with only really one or two people being around him. He was also getting therapy just to deal with what he had gone through. The constant fear of getting caught, the few nightmares he had where Fresh would punish him for running away... It wasn't a fun thing to deal with.

At school, he was like a celebrity, which didn't help him... At all. The people in the school all wanted to know about Fresh, what the two of them did, and plenty of them wanted to if he was in love with the cannibal or if the two of them had sex! He always gave those people a disturbed, disgusted look. Then when he did talk about the other stuff, many of the students completely ignored the fact that Fresh ate people and said that being with him was something he shouldn't have left!

It was... disgusting and disturbing on how many people his age talked about Fresh... How they even tried to encourage PJ to take them to the forest to see him. He always refused that. He knew the second he was back in that forest and anywhere near Fresh, he'd never leave. Not because he was in love with the monster, but because... Fresh would never trust him the way he had before and Jam knew he wasn't mentally stable enough to endure years with him again... Maybe that time, he would actually "fall in love" with the monster.

The teachers didn't really try to stop the questions till it got to the inappropriate ones. It... Annoyed Paperjam. He didn't want to talk about it, nor have it almost romanticized. It was disturbing. Sure, out of context, it might sound nice... But they hadn't lived it. They hadn't felt the fear of being caught lying or trying to escape. They hadn't had nightmares pertaining to being eaten because of those lies, or having their legs crushed and used in food... No, they only saw what they wanted to see.

Not everything was bad though... He actually got to know Cross and Lu better... He got to be able to talk about what happened to at least someone... He even got help with the nightmares! But... He should've known that escaping the forest wouldn't be that easy.
