Cross groaned a little as he woke up. His body was sore, namely in his chest and arms. He winced at the pain as it slowly made itself known.

"Don't try and move, that'll be an idiot thing to do." There was a chuckle at the end of that.

The officer glared at the voice, finding it to belong to the weird gooey-skeleton person. They held a smug type of smirk with their single eye looking him up and down.

"Asshole." He growled to them, getting a belly laugh.

"You~" They purred, suddenly gripping Cross's chin. "Are just adorable~ Eating you would just be a waste~" They teased, moving their hand from his chin to lightly smacking his cheek. After that, they pulled away and began to walk somewhere from Cross's field of view. "Don't worry about your injuries. They'll heal in a few days."

Cross glared at the space in front of him before sighing heavily and closing his eyes. He might as well try to sleep. It'll lessen the pain and help him heal faster. However, a clank sounded right near his ear, making him look up at the other.

"You need to eat, you know." The cannibal snorted with an eye roll. They then pulled out a stool before having those tentacles to help the pale skeleton sit up. He wasn't really gentle, but he wasn't as rough as he could be, so Cross held in as much noise of pain as he could.

The two stayed in silences as the gooey figure began to feed him some fruits and slightly crushed nuts. The office was too weak to really refuse eating the food, so he basically had no choice but to eat whatever was placed in front of his mouth. So far, everything's seemed normal.

"Hmm~ You're better trained than Paperjam."

Cross's eyes widen at the name, and he lurched forward some. Pain flared across his body and the brute before him had to push him down. He was given a confused look, causing the officer to huff some. He refused to answer the unspoken question.

Nightmare smirked a little at the white clad skeleton. They had fire. He liked that. He also liked that they were behaving themselves, though it wasn't really like they had a choice. He was rough with capturing them, and it took a while to get even that close.

The gooey skeleton smirked some as he remembered how well his new pet had adjusted to the forest's uneven terrain and how they even used that as an advantage to hide. He liked his pet~ His pet was smart, which meant he had to break his pet slowly. Or entirely~

Cross tensed as he saw a dark look overshadow the taller monster's eye, that glowing eye looking down at his legs. He could tell they were contemplating breaking them. A permanent break that would force him to rely on the monster before him.

"I'm not an idiot. I know you're not either. You won't give me a chance to run, you won't make Fresh's mistake."

The two looked at each other, completely focused on one another. Nightmare was looking in the other's eyes to see if they were lying or bluffing. They weren't. Not even close. They truly believe that Nightmare wouldn't make the same mistake as Fresh. His eye narrowed some. He knew both Fresh and Paperjam's names... How interesting.

Cross was intimidated by the larger monster before him, but he kept staring into their glowing eye. Emotions and thoughts were swirling in that eye that just felt unnatural. Then he watched as the other relaxed in a way, smirking more.

"You're right. I'm not an idiot. Unlike Fresh, I won't be so easily blinded by affection or claims of love~" The gooey skeleton reached out and caressed the other's cheek. The officer narrowed his eyes at the seemingly loving form of affection. His body yearned to lean into it, but he refused. He watched as the one before him smirked more. "You on the other hand~ You very much will~ Just like a little pet~" He teased before pulling away.

Cross scowled, pulling his head away from the other's hand. He watched as their shoulders bobbed up and down, clearly him laughing on the inside. Soon, they stood up with the empty fruit bowl.

"My names Nightmare, by the way, but you can call me Senpai~" He winked, Cross thinks, at the end of that.

"Cross, and I won't." He growled stubbornly.

The bigger monster snickered, moving over to his shabby little kitchen.

"Oh, you will~" He hummed confidently.

This time Cross stayed silent. If he didn't get out of there in time, he knew what the other said would be true... He hated that. Then a thought occurred to him at random, a thought that soured his mood.

Did Paperjam have to go through something like this?
