Its only been a few days. Quiet and peaceful. I only ever see Brahms during meals. I've heard him a few times playing the piano though, I've wanted to go and watch but I didn't want to make him uncomfortable. I haven't talked to him much either. I wanted to ask him why he killed them, why he keeps me here, why he chose me. But I haven't. I will soon though, I just don't want him to get mad and me be put back in the walls. I hated being in there.

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

"Sheriff's department!"

I knew this was coming at some point. They're looking for Malcolm. I get up from my bed and leave the room. I could play dumb, I've done it with Cole many times. If I just act clueless they will believe me.

"Brahms I know you can hear me, go hide in the walls." I talk just above a whisper so the officer won't hear me. I know Brahms is most likely already hiding, but I told him anyways.

I reach the front door and take a deep breath before opening it.

"Hello, is something wrong?" I look at her confused, seeming as I'm not sure of what's going on.

"Hi ma'am, we have gotten a few calls about a man, Malcolm, he is the guy who delivers food here. He's been missing for the past month and a half. Do you know anything about that?"

"Oh..he's missing? He randomly stopped coming so I thought he just quit the job. The Heelshires havent told me anything about him at all."

"The Heelshires, where are they now?"

"I'm not sure, they had said they were going on some trip and gave me this job of house sitting. They haven't contacted me so they must be busy, seeming as they own a lot of companies."

"You wouldn't mind if I had a look around would you?"

"Oh no, go ahead." I step to the side as she walks in. "Sorry it's a bit messy, it's hard to keep track of this place." I shut the door behind me and follow her to the kitchen.

"No problem miss. It's a big place, a hard job for just one person...I'm sorry, can I get your name please?" She pulls out a notepad and a pen.

"Oh, it's Emersyn Cohan." I smile at her. God I hope she believes me.

"Thank you. Can I check upstairs then?"

"Oh yes. It's even messier up there." I let out a small laugh as she follows me.

She does a quick walk through in each room and when she's done we walk back downstairs to the foyer.

"Thank you for letting me take up some of your time."

"Oh it doesn't bother me at all. It does get really lonely in here." I smile again at her as to which she smiles back.

"Have a good rest of your evening, Miss Cohan." She smiles once more before walking out the door and I close it behind her and lock it.

Thank god.

I stand at the door and hear the car start and then drive off. I let out a sigh and turn around and see Brahms at the bottom of the stairs, staring at me.

"She believed me, we are all good. I don't think they will send anyone else out here anytime soon."

He doesn't say anything to me. He just stares. Silence fills the room as I don't know what to say or do. I end up looking at the floor for a moment.

"I'll fix dinner." He finally speaks up and leaves the room.

Is he mad at me? Did you forget the rules? No guests. The officer wasn't a guest, she was purely just an officer. He would understand why I had let her in. She didn't do anything but look around for 10 minutes. No guests.
