Chapter 1~

back to present time - 16 years old day before the test

"chrISTINA YOU MF" yelled Yn angrily. "WHY TF DID YOU LEAVE ME TALKING TO THAT GUY"
Earlier today, Yn had saw someone cute, and as one does, he went up to talk to them with support from Christina. But she decided to leave him alone, and talk to the dude by himself. 'Confidence' she called it.

"Yessss?" Christina said, batting her eyelashes. "In my defense, I just want you to know how to talk to people".

"Bruh"

Christina is the knly one that knows Yn is omni (likes everyone, has a preference) and she's quite supportive. Uh dunno how to continue this so i'm cutting to the next day~

                     the next day

As Yn woke up, the thought of the aptitude test came upon him. He was never one for worrying over something so small, so he basically forced it out of his mind, not thinking about it until later that day.

When he walked down the stairs, he came upon the... beautiful sight of christina with bed head.

Coming upon Christina, he bids her a good morning. In response, he got a groan.
"Coffee" she managed to get out.

Chuckling, Yn said "yes ma'am", and went to make her some coffee.

Waiting for the coffee to pour, they started taking about the test, and the choosing ceremony. So much for wanting to forget about it- Yn thought.
"So. Whatcha planning on doin?" asked christina. Yn thought the question through his head, not quite sure how to answer. Of course he didn't want to leave Melissa and Robert, after caring for him so long, but he knew there was no way he could pass the initiation for candor.
"Not sure yet. I guess it depends on what the test says. What about you?" he replied.

"Well, i've always liked the idea of dauntless... and while I love my parents, our initiation is a little.. extra don't ya think?"

"Agreed. I don't have many secrets but telling everyone? N o." He went quite for a moment. "Wanna make a deal?" he suddenly asked her.

"..sure why not"

"whoever the person first picks, the other one follows. that way we'll hopefully never be separated."

After hearing that, christina smirked, already agreeing.

"agreed" she said.

"bet." they continued talking for the rest of them eating breakfast.
After a little Melissa came downstairs dressed in the regular black and white attire, and stopped by for a quick breakfast.

huh.. thought Yn Im lucky aren't I, to have this family. His thoughts drifted back to his actual parents, but he forced them out of his mind. Not now Yn not now he thought.

"Alright you guys need to get to school!" ordered Melissa as the two went up to get ready.

time skip to school cuz i'm ✨lazy✨

"Alright everyone, that was the last class of the day. Please pack up your things and head to the cafeteria, where you will have your test."
Upon hearing that, Yn got his stuff and quickly walked to the cafeteria, scanning for christina along the way.
"boo!" someone next to his ear said.
"hoLY FRICKIG ALSNSKSB- don't scare me like that ☹️" he ✨answered✨. "Let's just go to our table >:(" (i'm so sorry idfk what this is) anyways

As they arrived at the candor table, they talked to some people they knew from school. just waiting and waiting until the time came.

While christina was talking to another person, Yn looked around the room, just watching. Watching how Amity was having fun, living their life, how erudite was 'studying', abnegation quietly sitting, and dauntless. he watched how they were being themselves, nothing restraining them.

Then his name was called.

"Yn Ln?"

He shakily stood up, gripping christina on the shoulder. His name was called up along two dauntless, both having died hair, and an abnegation boy.

He was led into the room by a dauntless women. "Hi, my name is Tori and i'll be administrating your test today. have a seat."
The room was filled up with mirrors, and i could see myself through every angle.

Tori took something in her hands, and showed me. "This is what I will be injecting you with. It's a serum that'll put you into the simulation. Just do as it says and you'll be fine." she said

She inserted the needle and he went under the simulation.

He woke up in the same room, but this time tori wasn't with him. He sat up in the chair, looking around warily. (completely unrelated but i'm watching pirates of the Caribbean and they're just stuffing swords in the cannon 💀 okay back to the story) He then heard a voice. "Pick one" they said, and he was presented with a knife on a plate, and cheese on a plate. He just looked at it, unsure what to do. "Pick. One" the voice said again, this time more harshly.

He hastily picked up both of them, still unsure what it's for. Right after, a dog appears in the room. Not the fluffy kind of dog, but the kind that looks threatening, that could get you down in two second.

The dog approached quietly, going slowly at first but moving faster at each second. Yn panicked, thinking of what to do. He then grimaced, knowing what he had to do. He laid down slowly, keeping eye contact with the dog, and slowly offered the cheese, but when the dog didn't take it, Yn used the knife. 

It was quiet for s moment, and then the dog reappeared, along with a small child. The dog wasn't threatening anymore, but instead a fluffy, friendly looking one. The child started grabbing towards the dog, shouting "puppy! puppy!" happily, when the dog bared it's teeth, turning hostile again.

The dog started running towards the little girl, and Yn, not stopping for a minute of thought, ran towards the dog and jumped on top of it.

The simulation then dissolved after that, and he woke up standing on a bus.

A man was in front of him, reading a newspaper. Suddenly, the man turned to Yn and said, "Is this person familiar to you?? Do you know them? please it could save my life."

Yn felt that they were familiar, but couldn't place from where. The man looked at him with pleading eyes. I cant let him just.. sit there. if it helps him i might as well say i know them.. right? Yn thought.

Taking this course of action, he then told the man "I'm sorry, they seem familiar however I don't remember from where." With this, the man smiled gratefully, and the simulation then dissolved into nothing, with Yn waking up in the room once again.

The first thing he saw was Tori sitting straight up, with a tense look on her face as she furiously typed on the keyboard. "What did i get?" he asked. Tori looked at him, studying him for a moment.

"Listen here boy," she said as Yn flinched a little, remembering the name his dad used to call him. "Your test results were inconclusive. This means that you didn't get just one faction.. you can't tell anyone about this you hear me? I'm putting your results as dauntless. don't tell anyone about this. It's called divergent. Now go home, i'll tell them that you got sick from the serum. Go"

He got up from the chair and went the back way to his house. He took his time coming home, and when he ddi, he briefly said hi to melissa and robert (robert is christina's dad) and went straight to bed. He could think more tomorrow. For now he wanted sleep.
