It was exhausting to watch in the ambulance as they frantically tried to stabilize my sister's heart rate while I sat there praying and crying.

We finally arrived at the hospital, but Lily's condition remained critical. They made it through the Emergency Room, but I was not allowed to accompany them. I grabbed a seat towards the front of the entranceway, waiting for my sister. I was completely unaware that my parents had come.

"(y/n)! Oh, thank God, you're alright." Mom was tightly squeezing me, and dad was silent."Where is Lily?" my mom asked.

Instead of saying anything, I just let my tears fall where they would. While both of them were crying, they consoled me.

"Excuse me for a moment, little (y/n)'s mother?" In front of me, the instructor who fled from cowardice reappeared.

My mother stood up, tears in her eyes, and wiped them away. They've both vanished from view, leaving only me and my father.

I'm not sure what consoling words he said at the moment because Lily will always be the one to console me. She spoiled me and has always been by my side, promising that we would grow up together.

A doctor emerged from the E.R., and my father conversed with him; they were not far from me, and that I overheard their conversation.

"More blood, as well as a second operation for her, are required. She had previously suffered from coronary artery disease, which made it difficult for her to breathe throughout the procedure; it's possible she was born with it, but it's riskier to operate because her heart could fail. One of the reasons was that the guy's knife was sharp and long, the incision was deeper and wider than we expected, and she was slim. Her stomach had been injured, and her liver had been scratched. We can call it a fortunate occurrence because it did not pass through her body."

"What...should we do?" I'm not sure if his anxiety is that the operation won't succeed or that the amount that will be paid for the treatment is too high.

"I suggest to talk this with your wife, until further notice, for now, your little girl is awake.. She can make it in a few days, so we need your decision as fast as possible."

"You are welcome to come in." My mother smiled, but her face was worried; clearly, we didn't want Lily to be in that situation. Mikey was standing next to me, paying her a visit.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw Lily. Her face was pale, and it was agonizing to watch her look at so many things that were connected to her.

"Lily..." I walked slowly, trying not to wake her awake with my sobs. Mikey's hands were on my shoulder, which I didn't mind in the least.
