"I've seen you've got the flower." I leaned back and smiled. I wanted to see the outcome of this. The look on her face is very amusing. "I've gotten the rejection card too." She adds looking down at the roses. I bob my head and click my tongue.
"Yes, I won't be modeling your clothing line." Her frown deepens. I lean up and wince when my shirt slides onto the lashes on my back.
"But- why?" She breathed out and I took a hold of my coffee. "It's too revealing, the colors." I take a sip of my coffee and hum at its taste. I wasn't completely lying about how revealing and colorful her line was.
She leans back in the seat and looks around. Her eyes stop the photo. I gulp, hard, gripping onto the photo frame and resting it face down. I didn't need to be questioned about him. I didn't need Miss talkative blasting about who he is. The memories of my brother would just make me show how weak and hopeless I am.
"I'm sure you can find other women that would gladly take the honor of modeling your clothing line, Mrs. Heller." I finished the rest of my coffee. Licking my lips and looking up seeing her stare at her coffee cup.
I didn't get much sleep last night. That starfish move wasn't the most comfortable position to sleep in.
"Yes, I understand. Have a good day Miss. Scott." I nodded and got up with a brush of my black pants, I walked around. She sets the mug down and takes a hold of the roses and starts walking out. She glares at Amanda who gives a petty wave while I bite my bottom lip to repress the grin that spreads.
Mrs. Heller walks to the elevator and before I can say fear well, the doors close.
I lean onto the front desk and wince at the slight pain. A small breath leaves my mouth like a rushing river. I cough it off hoping that Amanda doesn't notice.
"Miss. Scott?" I hum for Amanda to go on, My eyes stay fixed on the elevator closed doors.
"Is everything okay?" I look back at her in a flash, She really doesn't miss anything. "Yeah, I am fine." I replied and hit my fist on the counter twice. I look down to the small plant pot on her desk. A smile tugged at my lips seeing as it was the same Peace Lily I had bought for her a year ago as a birthday present.
"Are you sure? Should I get someone to bring some medication? You looked like you were in pain...Miss Scott please let me know." She was curious, she was wise with her words and she didn't want to slip up. I admired that. She didn't even know the worst of it or who even did it to me- But she cared.
"Yes, Motrin, that would be great." I started to walk, but stopped and looked over my shoulder. "Is there any word from Mr. Cullens?" She holds the phone to her chest a flash of emotion swims in her eyes by the mention of his name, but she quickly smiles and shakes her head.
