Chapter 1: Is it the end?

Parker walks into the cafe like usual, but there was something off today. He noticed that nobody was here!
Infact nobody was around when he drove to the cafe!
Relief washed over him when his girlfriend Marie walked in.
But then he saw the look on her face, terrified and tired.
Parker asked "what's wrong?"
As he walked over and hugs her.
Marie replies "my parents vanished" and starts to sob.
Parker exclaims " why?!"
Marie says between sobs "I, I don't know. They were gone all day! "
Parker puts his hand over her mouth and whispers "did you hear that?"
Marie muffled "hear what?"
