- Josh is supportive when you tell him about your diagnosis. He tells you your illness is a part of you but does not define who you are

- Researches your condition to learn what can help alleviate a flare

- But when you do flare up and can't sleep at night because of the pain Josh stays up with you. He makes tea and sings your favorite songs to you

- When you explain to Josh that you can't eat certain foods he looks up safe recipes to make for you

- He tries them with you as a way to say that you don't have to feel bad about your dietary restrictions. And some of the meals end up being quite good to his surprise

- Josh also comes to as many appointments as he can

- He might not understand everything the doctor says but he is there to hold you when you get bad news, a new medication or dismissed by a doctor

- He is the only person in your life to see past the fake smile when you say you're having a good pain day

- Josh is supportive of your illness and lets you tell him what you need instead of bombarding you with remedies
