long rollercoaster chapter
It was now April and things had started to go back to relative normalcy in the two months the four of them had been living in the small apartment.
Florence, who was nonstop studying in her spare time, had been forced to take a break by Niall who had hidden her textbooks somewhere in the apartment. She was mad at first, of course, but she got over it in a few days when she realised she already knew everything she needed to know. So she had taken up cooking when she found Anne's old cookbooks and started to work her way through them all.
Niall was studying a few times a week instead of every waking moment. When he wasn't studying, he spent his time watching tv and playing his guitar aimlessly. He was Florence's number one guinea pig for the food she would make, giving her tips to make it even better because apparently, he was some sort of food connoisseur.
Louis spent most of his time working on his art so he could sell it.. which he did. He had started up a website and used the money he and Harry stole from the school to promote his work on social media. His work started to sell, and slowly but surely, he started to make a little money. He would donate some of the money to charities and foundations Harry would tell him about, even if it wasn't much money, and he would keep the leftover money in a savings account.
And Harry. He had been spending his time making music and posting it onto Soundcloud. He knew that it would be a good idea to call up Jeff and try to actually do something with it - like make a career and make money from it - but he literally couldn't be bothered. And if he wasn't doing something musical related, he would watch tv with Niall, read, play his guitar or piano, or he would be holed up in his room by himself in the dark sleeping the days away.
As the weather gradually got warmer and closer to summer, the less and less layers were being worn around the apartment which meant that the unresolved sexual tension between Harry and Louis was stronger than ever. There was no one and nothing holding them back from going at it, they just weren't.
After their date at the Italian restaurant, to say that Harry was a little disappointed he didn't get any action was an understatement. He knew that he had killed the mood when he started blabbering on about his addiction and he hated himself for that, but there was nothing he could've done because Louis needed to know everything if they were going to go further with their relationship. Also, he couldn't really force himself onto Louis, so he decided to stick with the never-ending teasing.
The four had even taken it upon themselves and went on a trip up to Massachusetts for a weekend in March to get away from the bustling streets of Brooklyn for a few days, and they stayed at a cheap, small Airbnb for their stay.
It was a warm Thursday evening and Florence and Niall were packing a few small bags for a short road trip just the two were taking up to Boston for the weekend.
"You should pack some really skimpy lingerie in case he proposes," Harry said to Florence, the both of them sitting on the bedroom floor with the other two in the other room watching a basketball game.
"He's not gonna propose." She shook her head.
"Yes, he will. I have high hopes."
"No, I asked him about that, and he said that he wants to have you two there when he does."
"Boo." Harry threw a pair of blue jeans at her. "Why would he want us to be there?"
"Because you two are our best friends and we love you two more than anything." She grabbed the jeans and shoved them into her suitcases only to have Harry pull them back out and fold them.
"I'm sure that's not true." He stood up and sat on her bed.
Florence huffed and zipped up her suitcase. "You, Louis, and Niall are the most important people in my life and I am truly thankful for you." She stood up and sat beside him. "You need to stop putting yourself down all the time. You really need to know how fantastic you are and how much people love you but you just won't listen."
