#5. The Talk

Ayato trying to talk to y/n be like^^

Y/N pov

That meeting went on longer then expected. I guess I understand considering the utter chaos that has taken place but still, that was just very tiring.

Childe managed to charm some of the shrine maidens and I managed to get on the right side of Kujou Sara, to be fair Signora was out of line acting on her own accord and I acknowledged that which seemed to resonate well with her.

Thankfully.

"Finally done"Childe says with a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, this has been a long morning"
"Thankfully we can just continue our walk around Inazuma City and maybe head back to Ritou to check out a few shops too"
"You're buying obviously :)"

"Whatever you say m'lady "

As we are exiting the shrine, I spot icy blue hair walking up the path towards us.

Omg breathe dumbass. Ofcourse he would be here, the Kamisato Clan is literally near the shrine AND he is the head of the freaking clan after all.

I simply smile and walk past him noticing that he is in a rush, when all of a sudden he is blocking my way down.

"Oh hey, sorry I thought you were in a rush-"

"Can we talk"
"Please"

That please hit me really hard for some reason...

Childe notices the tension (who wouldn't) and says:
"Greetings Mr Kamisato, I see you have matters to discuss with dear y/n. I'll leave you to it"
"See you later y/n"

With that Childe takes his leave. Omg I hope he knows the way back!

Worried for Childe being an idiotic forgetful little pea brain, I completely forget to utter a response to Ayato.

"Y/n?"

"Huh"

"I asked if we could talk...please"

I mean I'm basically cornered here, how could I say no.

He definitely would respect my decision if I did say no, however. I do want to talk...
It's been so long how could I say no

"Yeah sure"

"Okay...thank you"
"Where would you like to go?"

"Komore Teahouse was always a private and chill place to talk"
"That's if Thoma hasn't taken me off the approved guest list "

"Don't worry, he hasn't "

He starts walking back down the path and I follow.

This man really just rushed up that  path to ask me to talk...
Why couldn't he wait until we came down

"Are you okay?"

"Huh, yes yes I'm fine sorry"

We don't talk much as we walk to Komore Teahouse.
When we finally get there we have no problem getting in.
I almost forgot that only my close friends knew about the reason why I left Inazuma.

I greet Taroumaru and head with Ayato to the last room at the end of the hall to sit and chat. He ended up ordering some rose tea and dango for us to eat. Our go to order

"So what did you want to talk about"

I waste no time in cutting straight to the conversation that we both knew would eventually come up. I think he appreciates the straightforward approach as he starts talking.

"Thank you for agreeing to this. I know I don't deserve to have this opportunity right now but I'm happy that I do. "
(He inhales deeply)

"I'm really sorry y/n. For everything"
"All of those hurtful things I said and how I ignored you for those last few weeks before you left"
"I made you feel like shit because I couldn't deal with what path you chose for yourself"
"I came off as controlling and rude, and I'm really really sorry for being such an asshole to you"

(He stops to take another deep breath and continues)

"Being a complete moron and saying those awful things because I was afraid of all the horrible things that could happen to you or what anyone would do to you, is not an excuse"
"I really regretted it, I still do. I didn't realize how shitty everything I said was until I told Itto about it and he called me out for being a fucking dumbass"
"When HE told me that, I knew I messed up big time, but by the time I got to your house to apologize,  you had already left. "
"Your parents had said that you were so excited to finally be leaving and my heart broke even more"
"I'm not trying to make you feel guilty or sorry for me, I just want you to know that I never stopped caring. If you ever thought I did..."

(He finally stops and takes a final deep breath but does not continue to talk)

"Ayato"

"I really am sorry y/n"

"That was alot of talking"
"I'm usually the talkative one"

(He starts to blush. Or maybe he is just really out of breath)

"I just needed to get that off my chest. For a few years now..."

"Never heard of a letter..."

"Why the heck didn't I try that!!!"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding calm down" I laugh a little. That honestly was something I wanted to hear for so long...
I always hoped everything he said to me back then came from a good place but was delivered in a bad way. I didn't want my boyfriend to think of me as some low life fatui scum who signed her life away for power and status...

"I really appreciate that"
"To be honest I thought you really were disgusted by me and my choices. I didn't think you would want to see me again after that"

"I really wish I could of taken those words back. I was so selfish"

"Apology accepted."
"I tried to convince myself that everything you said came from a good place back then..."
"I really appreciate the sincerity Ayato"

"Thank the Archons." He puts his face into his hands.
"Thank you for hearing me out"

Omg finally. I decided to end it off here because that's alot to take in one sitting. I don't want EVERYTHING to be sorted out in one sitting.
Yes this is their love story but y/n also has other issues to take care of here.
