Mr Kamalendu Mukherjee was a man in his mid sixties, not very tall but not very short either. Normally, he was a man who never stressed much about anything in life – howsoever harsh the situation might be, but right now he was beyond worried. And the reason behind his worry was his darling daughter – Arna.

It has been two days now that Arna has not been in touch with them. It was not a strange thing as Madhavgarh was a secluded place, on top of that there had been many days when the network connectivity had snapped and they had not been able to talk to her; but it still worried him when his daughter did not stay in touch.

His wife, the beautiful Nalini Mukherjee was a famous dancer. Her dance academy and her shows were famous all over the country. Twelve years younger than her husband, she was still very much in form. And she was much calmer than her husband.

Puttimg the magazine back on the table, she sighed and fixed her pacing husband with a glare.

“Kamal. Stop worrying and sit down.” She could not take it any longer.

“How can you be so calm, Nalini? Chini has been unreachable since last two days.”

“Correction Kamal – it has been one and half day. Besides, Madhavgarh is a place which boasts of bad network. This is not the first time this has happened. And considering that Chini still has one more year of education left, this will not be the last.”

“Shubham is also not reachable. His phone is switched off. How do I keep calm?” Kamal tried to reach for his phone but it was snatched from his hands.

“All the more reason not to aggravate your hypertension.”

“I can’t help it, Nalini. I feel like something bad has happened.”

Mrs. Mukherjee didn’t have the heart to confide in her husband that even she had a bad feeling this time. Unknown to him, she had been trying to reach her daughter, but had been unsuccessful. Somehow, she managed to calm her husband down as she tried and failed yet again. She knew she had to reach Arna and that too at the earliest, because if nothing happened in the next 24 hours, then no force on Earth could stop her husband from taking a flight to Madhavgarh.

Pushing her irritated husband back into the sofa, she fixed him with a steely glare.
