Who am I when nobody's around? Who are you when nobody's around? Who are we really?
Who are we when we finally get a chance to remove our mask? Who are we when we're being ourselves? Who are we when we're not trying to be someone we're not? Who are we when we're not hiding what we are?
Nobody ever really knows who we are, sometimes even we don't know who we really are.
Sometimes I don't know who I am. Sometimes I look at the mirror and ask "Who are you?", I ask because I don't know who the reflection standing in front of me is.
"Who am I really?" "Do I even know who I really am?" "Does anyone know who I really am?" These are the questions I ask myself. These are the questions you might've asked yourself. But why? Why do we ask ourselves these questions?
We ask ourselves these questions because sometimes we really don't know. We ask these questions because sometimes when we react the real us could show, and we'd be surprised because we never knew that that was the real us, that was how we really feel, that was what we've been keeping inside for so long and we didn't even know.
We didn't know because we never acknowledged it. We didn't know because we were too busy pretending to be something we're not. We didn't know because we chose to hide behind a mask. We didn't know because we were scared to show it.
We chose to hide behind a mask and pretend to be someone we're not because we're scared of what others might see, we're scared of the judgement we'll receive when we finally choose to be who we really are.
But I realized something, I realized that no matter who or what you are, no matter who you pretend to be, no matter what mask you hide behind, there will always be judgements there will always be people who won't accept who you are and you can't escape them, but you can pretend that they're the one who doesn't exist
