Gabby Umbridge and Hogwarts

07 - gobby

Gabby was walking to the hufflepuff common room very angrily. once she arrived Hannah was nowhere to be found. Gabby went op to her dormitory and saw Hannah and susan reading something.

'i-is that my diary!' Gabby yelled.
'o-oh Gabby i didn't know you'd come back so early. we- we were just um..' Susan tried to say.
'you guys are liars!' Gabby almost began to cry but she wanted to look tough. 'you lied to me Hannah.'
'what? what did i lie about?' Hannah asked very confused.
'you told me Draco said i gossiped about you when i didn't! Draco would never lie!'
'draco did tell me that. i'm not lying about that, i believe you gabby but draco told me you did.' Hannah said trying to comfort Gabby.

'draco wouldn't lie. i know he's not like that.' Gabby said as she sat down in her bed.
'gabby, you only just met him. you don't know what he's like.' Susan said getting slightly annoyed.
'no! i know him. ugh, you wouldn't understand.' Gabby grabbed her diary and left.

Gabby walked around the halls aimlessly. she decided to go for a walk for some fresh air. after walking for what seemed like hours she sat down under a tree. it had already gotten dark. she looked at her diary.
'i wish Hannah and Susan would just drop dead.' she whispered to herself out of anger.

'oh my god, did you just say that out loud?'
Gabby turned and saw Kirsten.
'i-i- please don't tell them i s-said that.'
'of course i won't, we are friends after all.' Kirsten said sitting down next to Gabby.

'you should forgive them, they care about you.' Kirsten said.
'they lied to me.'
'it was just a misunderstanding, it happens all the time.' Kirsten reasons. Gabby sighs, why is talking to her so comforting?
'have you ever had friends before?' Kirsten asked sarcastically.
Gabby thinks about it for a moment before realizing. 'n-not really..'
'wait actually?'

'there was this one girl, we were best friends at a very young age. i would play with her every day. my mom really liked her.'
'are you still friends?' Kirsten asks.
'i don't know, one day she was just gone. she went to france. i didn't get to say goodbye. she wrote me a note saying that she had to go to france because her dad had found a girlfriend that lived in france, so they were moving there to start a new family.' Gabby says.
'oh wow..' Kirsten is speechless. 'maybe one day you will see her again.'
'i hope so..' Gabby says.

Gabby walks back to her dormitory. her and Kirsten talked for maybe an hour, it felt really nice. as she opens the door to her dorm she feels guilty, she shouldn't have called Hannah and Susan liars. they are right, she didn't really know draco. yet.

meanwhile in the slytherin dormitories

the moment angela sees the door of her dorm open she stands up excitedly.
'how did it go?' Angela asked.
'perfect.' Kirsten said before she yawned.
'oh come on now. don't tell me you're tired already.' Angela remarked.
'i had to listen to her talk for more than an hour, give me a break.' kirsten said pulling her blanket over her head.

the next morning in the hufflepuff dormitories

Gabby woke up to Susan and Hannah already being gone. it was only 6 am. why would they be gone so early? gabby figured they were probably avoiding her. she remembered last night and draco. he lied to her. she sighs as she gets up to get ready for breakfast.

when gabby is ready it's only 6:30 am. she decides to go for a walk outside the castle since breakfast only starts at 7:30 am. as gabby walks outside the castles she sees two girls walking towards a hut. she can't see who they are from the distance. she decides to walk towards them. as she gets closer she sees they are wearing slytherin robes. when she gets close enough to make out their faces she sees that the girls are angela and kirsten. she decides to run to them.

'guys!' she yells. she sees them turn to her and kirsten waves. gabby waves back as she speeds up. 'guys what are-' gabby starts but gets cut off as she trips on a rock. she quickly stands up and walks to angela and kirsten.
'oh my god! are you ok?' angela asks sounding worried but gabby can see her fighting a smile.
'yeah, i'm fine.' gabby smiles. 'what are you guys doing up so early?'
'we were going to visit hagrid, we promised him we would before the start of the school year.' kirsten answers. 'you can come with us if you like?'
'of course!'

angela knocks on hagrid's door and it is answered by the big man gabby saw at the start of the school year. she still thought he looked kind of scary.
'hello girls! come in!' hagrid said leading us inside his hut. 'i see you've brought a friend. hello to you, what's your name?'
'i-i'm gabby.' gabby stuttered still being intimidated by hagrid.
'well hello gobby, i'm hagrid.' hagrid said as he pours us cups of tea.
'hagrid!' kirsten laughs. 'her name is gabby, not gobby!'
'gobby!' angela laughs 'that's funny.'
'oh i'm sorry gabby! did i say it right this time?' hagrid asks.
'y-yes.'

they chat for a bit. gabby just sits there occasionally laughing or answering their questions. she feel a bit awkward in hagrids hut. fang also scares her.

'well it's almost time for breakfast so we should get going hagrid!' angela says standing up. 'it was nice talking to you.'
'it was very nice, girls.' hagrid laughs. 'will i see you next week again? if your not too busy of course.'
'of course hagrid.' kirsten says walking out of the door.

while walking back the the castle kirsten asks gabby: 'why were you so quiet gabby?'
'i-i am sorry i just- i can't stop thinking about hannah and susan. they're mad at me and i wanted to apologize to them but they were gone this morning.' gabby blurts out.
'come on, you'll see them at breakfast.' angela says grabbing her arm and running to the castle.
