"Mom! Dad!"

I called, throwing the front door open. I rushed in, my cheeks somewhat flushed due to the cool breeze that early September brings in. The edge of my hair lightly fell over my eyelids "Oof, I gotta get a haircut soon." I muttered.

Putting that thought aside for later, I yelled for my parents again. "Mom! Dad!"

"We're in the kitchen!" I heard my dad yell back. I quickly leaped over the couch like a flying squirrel and ran into the next room to find my parents sitting at the dining table, both of them with a cup of coffee in their hands.

I opened my mouth to speak only to let out heavy breaths cause of the whole marathon I just ran. "Just wait a sec," I panted, trying to catch my breath, having my hands on my knees. And still, just a few seconds later, I heard a muffled snort. I looked back up at my dad trying to control his laughter while my mom glared at him to stay quiet.

"Dad! Don't laugh at me!" I huffed, subconsciously pouting, causing my cheeks to puff out.

He immediately started laughing, I huffed again, looking at my mom. I probably seemed exasperated enough for my mom to listen. "Mom, dad's laughing at me."

"Ok wait." She whacked my dad on his arm. "There you go, sweetie. He's not laughing anymore."

I snickered as my dad rubbed his arm, whining about how it hurt. "Ow, that hurt!"

"Shouldn't have laughed at me then." I stuck my tongue out at him.

"C'mon son, how could I not laugh?" He chuckled. "You looked cute like you were eight years old again."

I rolled my eyes, still smiling. "Dad, I might seem tiny, but I am almost sixteen now."

"Yes, we know sweetie. But you'll always be a kid for us, our cute little son." My mom spoke bringing me to her, hugging me tightly.

I hummed. "Yes, I know." I hugged her back.

"So Jisung, what did you want to tell us?"

Hearing my dad, I remembered my original excitement. "Oh yeah! I took the written exam for driving today!"

My parents' eyes widened. "Oh my god! Did you pass?!"

I nodded, grinning widely. My parents immediately got up to hug me and congratulated me. My dad ruffled my hair. "Ji, you know what this means?" He asked.

"I finally get my car!" I yelled, running around the kitchen.

My mom clapped, "Yes, we have to start browsing for cars, now don't we! When's your driving test?"

"Next week! Just in time for my birthday!" I exclaimed. "Felix also passed his test! He's doing the driving exam next week, the day after me."

"Well, we should all celebrate next week then, shouldn't we." My mom suggested. "I'll invite them over next week. Jisung, just ask Felix if that's alright."
