I don't think I will ever get used to the feeling of plummeting from the top of a skyscraper, no matter how many times I do it.
I pulled us to a stop just before we splattered onto the asphalt. I skated across the air with ease, glancing over to Saturn once in a while.
"Hey Jones, can I show you something?" I looked over to her and nodded my head, knowing that my voice would be carried away with the rushing wind. She directs me towards the location she's wanting to go.
We reached a giant, ugly dead willow tree in the middle of nowhere. If this tree is what my sister wanted to show me, then I'm quite disappointed.
"Um, Saturn we have criminals to stop and you want to show me a dead tree?""No, Jones it's not the tree! Here watch," she walked over to a hanging lump that I hadn't noticed. As I got closer I realized it was a beehive.
"Saturn I don't think you should-" I was stopped mid-sentence when bees started to rush out of the hive and surround her. They moved wherever she did and didn't sting her once.
"Isn't this amazing! I don't even know how to explain it," She said as she watched the bees in amazement. I was speechless, not being able to wrap my head around the scene in front of me.
"This has to be the weirdest thing I have ever seen! Looks like we can now enter you into the circus. I can see it now, The Great Bee Tamer!"
"Oh shut up, I thought you would like to see it."
"No, I do, it's just I wish I had an explanation for it," I said actually being serious.
"You know, not everything has to have an explanation Jones."
"Whatever, put your bees to bed and let's go kick some criminal ass like Batman and Robin."
"Ha ha funny, but if you are going to compare us to Batman and Robin, then you are Robin."
"Sure, whatever you say sis." I said as I clicked a sequence of buttons to turn my Hover-boots. Turning them on had become second nature for me.
Saturn gripped onto my upper arm and we took off into the air. The night was gorgeous, and hovering above the city that never sleeps was breathtaking. I looked over to Saturn to see her totally mesmerized by the sight below us that has become way to familiar.
It took us about fifteen minutes to get to the alley or in other words, the crime scene. I slowly grounded and Saturn unclasped from my arm. We had done this so many times that we didn't think twice about what to do.
I stride over to the dark and very unwelcoming door. Hushed chitchat brings me relief for they haven't left yet. I signal to Saturn that they are inside and she pulls out her electrum whips that hissed with electricity. I pulled out this really weird gun looking contraption thing that I found in the box. We haven't used it yet, so I'm hoping It doesn't do anything crazy and accidentally kill someone.
I hold the gun up and Saturn pulled back her whips. I counted to three, then busted the door in. We were met by three men standing over a glass case, robbed of half its jewelry.
They pivot around , obviously surprised to have encountered intruders. Honestly they should know to expect for the worst, even I know that and I'm no criminal. At first it was like a really weird staring contest, then it really went down. The thugs raised up their guns and pointed them exactly at me- how rude!
I duck, knowing that Saturn was about to crack her whip. She pulled it back then forcefully brought it forward to where it raped around one of the men's arms. He was on the ground in two seconds.
"Alright, who's next, or do we want to put our guns down?" I said with the toughest voice I could manage. They slowly bent down to the floor, about to put their guns down, when the obviously stupid one, picked his gun up and shot it. The idiot missed by a landslide and got to feel the raft of the electric whips. While this catastrophe was happening the other guy tried to make a run for it, what a moron! I pointed my gun at him and pulled the trigger. The gun definitely was no ordinary gun, and that was proven when the thing started shooting out damn lasers! Like how frickin cool is that!
The masked man fell to the ground after being shot in the leg countless times. Before I even realized it another masked figure comes into the shop and points a gun that is very similar to mine. That's strange cause I'm pretty sure you can't buy this gun at like your local gun shop.
With his gun still pointed at us the figure removed the mask to revile their face. I gasped as I took a look at the person, this was impossible.
I sputtered out,
"Adeline?"
