Chapter 1, The beginning of loss

We come back to the past before the outbreak, when Julian is turning 19, and Terry managed to convince his mother to come visit his best friend Julian on his birthday as a surprise present, and now the teen's are by themselves with their respective parents at the store, but little did they know something would happen that day that would change their lives..

The boys are both on the couch talking with each other with the Tv on in the background cracking jokes and such

Terry:"So how's it feel being nineteen Julian?" He chuckles as Julian looks with a 'bruh' expression but Julian laughs

Julian:"Yeah and your 18 and shorter then me" Julian States with Terry looking at him wanting to punch him so badly and Julian can see that so he laughs and Terry does with him

After awhile from talking with Julian Terry looks at his phone and looks worried

Terry:"it sure is taking awhile for them to come back?"

Julian:"Yeah, you wanna give them a ca-"

All of a sudden the TV switches to a random channel blaring sirens for a few seconds before cutting to a man that looks to be a news reporter in his late 40's

TV:"Hello my fellow citizens, I hate to say it but the worse has come..A zombie outbreak believe It or not has happened and is spreading constantly all across the world, The U.S military has fallen and the government is nowhere to be seen in our time of need"

All of a sudden they both can hear groaning and pounding on the mans door from the TV but he doesn't look surprised

TV:"Please stay indoor's and god bless America"

The man then suddenly pulls out a small handgun then a loud gunshot is heard and the mans door breaking down before the TV cuts to static with Terry and Julian watching the screen in disbelief

Julian:"Oh my god.."

Julian:"This has to be a prank right?! Some birthday prank with it being only broadcasted to our house right???" Julian looks towards Terry who is looking at his phone then slowly looks at Julian

Terry:"Julian..You might wanna have a look at this.." As Terry hands Julian his phone, he takes it and It's on the news app and all Julian can see is reports of what they already heard

Julian:"..It really isn't a prank..." Julian gives Terry back his phone then realizes something and looks at Terry

Julian:"Terry..Where is our parents?" Terry immediately looks confused

Terry:"They are at the sto-...Oh no."

All of a sudden Julian bolts up and dashes to the door but Terry holds his arm

Terry:"LISTEN, I wanna go as much as you do but shouldn't we atleast be armed?!"

Julian:"Yeah..You're right sorry my body Just acted on its own hearing this"

Terry goes and grabs a kitchen knife while Julian grabs one too but remembers something and goes upstairs and goes in a closet seeing a safe

Julian to himself:"Thank god this is still here.."

Julian puts in the pin to the safe and opens it, and in the safe their is a M9 inside, A holster for it, and finally two magazine's he attaches the holster to his Belt on his pants he reloads the pistol with one of the mag's then puts the other in his pocket finally holstering his side arm then exit's the closet to find Terry waiting for him

Terry:"Thanks for finally coming out of the closet your secret is safe with me"

Julian:"..Dude wrong time"

Terry and Julian walk out of the house looking around noticing how the world around them seems still

Julian:"It's so quiet now.."

Terry nods and they walk up the road and see a man standing still

Julian:"Hey! Are you okay?"

Julian walks up to him and tries to place a hand on his shoulder However as soon as Julian does he turns around and tries to bite Julian however thanks to Terry pulling Julian, he gets out of the way then Julian stabs him with the adrenaline that he had because of the recent scenario that just happened then Terry stabs him in the head

Julian:"Okay..Note to self don't interact with people who don't say hey back"

Terry:"Your a dumbass"

To which Julian just grins and they keep going on their way to the store

The boys make it to the store and try the entrance to no avail

Julian:"Damn, door's locked"

Terry:"Let's try the back?"

Julian nods then they both head to the back of the store thankfully it wasn't locked so Terry opens it and heads inside however randomly Terry gets grabbed from behind by a zombie putting him into a chokehold with Terry and Julian being shocked Julian panics for a second but when the zombie was about to bite Julian quickly pulls his gun and shoots the zombie in the head, then Terry holds his ear

Terry:"FUCK MY EAR MAN, WHERE DID YOU EVEN GET A GUN FROM? "

Julian:"First off would you rather be dead? Second off closet safe"

Julian says then holsters his gun having too use a bullet to save his best friend then they both go in the store with them checking all the aisles in the store

Terry:"Don't see them.."

Julian:"Let's check the front"

Julian and Terry both head to the front of the store only to die inside, both of their parents 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚍𝚎𝚊𝚍 they both knew they couldn't cry but that didn't stop Julian as he cried his eyes out seeing his uncle with a cake that said "Happy 19th birthday!", 30 minutes later Julian got up and grabbed his uncle's body with Terry looking at him confused while Julian unlocks the store goes outside and digs a grave for his uncle Terry doing the same with his mother

Julian:"..Terry.."

Terry:"Yeah?.."

We have to find a cure.
