Summary: Wilbur is revived and back to starting up his bad habits. With the creation of the burger van, Wilbur invites Tommy to visit. This makes Tommy mad because Wilbur's countries are the reason why he got hurt in the first place. After going MIA, Wilbur decides to visit Tommy and do a wellness check.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tommy couldn't accept that Wilbur was a "changed man". No matter how hard he tried to look past it, he could only see the Wilbur that betrayed him and left him stranded. Wilbur left Tommy all alone to deal with the mess that his brother created. That took so much toll on the young boy, so much trauma. So why was Tommy here now?
A freshly built burger van stood before the blonde who, reasonably, was disturbed by the situation. "Tommy!" Wilbur called out from behind the male. Tommy turned to look at his brother who was carrying a bunch of supplies towards the van. Wilbur walked past him and placed the bundles of wheat down on top of the chest in front of the van. "Tommy I'm glad you made it!" chirped the older man as he began to pack away the wheat into the chest.
Grabbing at his bandaged arm, Tommy cautiously made his way over to his older brother. He let out a small sigh before looking up at the van. "...Wil...are you starting another country...?" A heavy tone held firm in his words which caused Wilbur to pause his task.
Leaning up from the chest, the brunette turned to look towards Tommy. He chuckled for a moment before shaking his head. "No, no this is just some friendly rivalry." Wilbur noticed he was the only one smiling between the both of them. His face relaxed before a sigh fell from his lips. "It's not a country. Just a burger van."
Tommy's gaze shifted to the ground. He didn't trust what Wilbur was doing or what he said. This was just how L'manburg started. A hotdog van.
"I should go now..." Tommy began to turn away, but his arm was grabbed during the process. "You just got here!" whined Wilbur. "At least check out the van, we worked hard on it. And since you were my right hand man I-"
"We...?" Tommy questioned, eyebrows twisted into a confused, yet angry look. Who would possibly join Wilbur after all that he did?
Wilbur realized he slipped up only after Tommy mentioned it. Now what position would this put him in? Tommy would surely leave after hearing about who the second hand man was, right? It was better to come out now sooner than later though. "Ranboo and I. You know, the dude with the Unus Annus color scheme?"
The blonde's eyes widened with shock. Ranboo?! Why would he join Wilbur?! So much for not choosing sides. Filled with anger, Tommy ripped his arm away and began to storm off. How did Wilbur always manage to take everything from him. EVERYTHING.
"Tom-!" Wilbur was cut off when the his younger brother whipped around, his face beaming with anger.
"DON'T! YOU'VE TAKEN EVERYTHING FROM ME! EVERYTHING WILBUR!" Tommy's body violently shook with adrenaline. "Don't talk to me ever again. Got that?" With that, the blonde turned around and began to walk off.
As Wilbur stood there astonished at the others outburst, he noticed something unsettling. He could've sworn Tommy had wings.
A few weeks passed without a word from his younger brother. Wilbur had asked around, but nobody had seen the boy either. This began to make the man worried. After all, didn't he "take everything away" from Tommy. If that was true, then what did Tommy have left? If there was nothing left for him, would Tommy really consider...y'know. No, his brother was more than that.
'Don't talk to me ever again. Got that?' The words played on loop in Wil's mind. The frustration must've been radiating from him because he found a hand gripping at his shoulder and a concerned enderman staring at him.
Wil chuckled for a moment before lightly pushing the other's hand from his shoulder. "Sorry...I just have a lot going on..." The male sighed before brushing a hand through his hair. "I'm gonna take some time away...don't work too hard I don't give raises." Wilbur teased, causing Ranboo to let out an awkward chuckle. Ranboo waved the other a goodbye before getting back to work.
The brunette pulled his pack of cigarettes from his pocket and cusped his hand around the end so that his flame wouldn't distinguish. Lighting it, Wil took a long drag before releasing the smoke into the air. Smoking was something he missed a lot. He hadn't smoked since Pogtopia days. Memories of Pogtopia brought him back to his main concern.
He needed to visit Tommy. The curiosity of his younger brother's well-being was really getting to him, but should he? Remembering what Tommy said, the other would most likely shut him away at the first chance he had. Wilbur stopped walking, thoughts racing all over his conscience. What should he do? What if Tommy wasn't ok? He said to leave him alone though. Ugh! Why are teens so complicated?! Well, was Tommy even a teen anymore with all the shit he's seen and dealt with? Wil needed to know if Tommy was okay.
It was only a few more minutes before he finally arrived before Tommy's house. Hesitation struck him as he stood at the door. Just knock idiot! A shaky hand raised to the door getting ready to knock. That was until two voices could be heard from inside.
"I don't trust Wil anymore and I don't know why you all are! Am I the only one who remembers everything he's done...? How can you guys just brush off all of that?" That voice definitely belonged to Tommy.
"Tommy, 13 years in a void will change people though. You at least have to give him a chance to redeem himself. What he did wasn't right, but he's your brother Thes-Tommy. You need to give him a chance." Philza Minecraft. Aka, their adoptive father.
"You are just as guilty as him. Where were you when all of this happened? Gone! You left us so we had to make a life for ourselves. Now you feel the need to come barging back into our life to play father? That's sick." Tommy spat back, words venomous.
Needless to say, his youngest's words caught him off guard. Phil took a small breath before looking to the ground. "You're right...and I'm sorry for that..." the older male looked back up towards Tommy who looked to be on the verge of tears. "Think about who took care of you though. Wilbur. All I'm trying to say is you should give him a final chance, but don't let yourself get hurt. You need to be strong." Phil turned his gaze back towards his hands. "You need to tell him what went on when he left. Especially when it comes to Dream."
Tommy buried his face into his hands. He didn't want to tell Wilbur about exile or how Dream had hurt him or even about how he had hurt their eldest brother. He didn't wanna bring up the memories of the prison or how much revival sucked. Why even tell him when he wouldn't care. Wasn't it Wilbur who yelled at him when they went to Las Nevadas. What if he yelled at him again? "I'm gonna go take a walk..." With that, Tommy stood from his seat on his bed and made his way over to the door. When he opened it, he was met with a face he wasn't sure if he was ready to see.
Wilbur stood there for a moment, hand still slightly raised as if he still planned to knock on the door. He hesitated for a moment before relaxing his posture. "Can we go take a walk together?" The taller male questioned as he looked down at Tommy. He was shocked to see the other shaking his head yes in response. Wilbur let a small smile fall onto his face before he lead the two to the prime path. He had so many questions, but he wanted Tommy to talk when he was ready.
After about 5 minutes, Tommy finally decided it was time to break the silence. "Everything went to shit when you left. You knew it would and you decided to take the cheap way out. You left me to handle your mess and in turn, it lead me to a bunch of crazy shit. Now you're back and I'm supposed to just forget what you did? Is that fair?" Pain was evident in his tone. He stopped walking, fists clenched ever so slightly as his emotions began to fill him up again. "I was forced into exile by my own best friend where every single day, Dream would torment me. He would take all my shit, throw it in a hole, and blow it up! He took my wings, Wilbur. He cut them off, and I was left there to bleed out.." Tommy's head dropped trying to hide his face away from his brother. Wilbur stood there in shock, concern taking over. He didn't know what to do or what to say. Before he could say anything, Tommy began to speak once more. "I escaped exile and went to stay with Techno. But again, I just ended up hurting him because that's what I do best, huh?" The blonde looked back up at Wilbur, tears now streaming down his face. "I went to visit Dream in prison and got fucking killed! Do you remember?! I can't stop shaking because he gave me head trauma! Wilbur he beat me to death!" This was all Wilbur's fault. If Wilbur hadn't left or been so power hungry, he could've been there for him.
Anger rose in Tommy as Wilbur became his cause of all his problems. "It's all your fault man!" the younger brother yelled out as he slammed his fist into Wilbur's chest. Tommy cried out as he slammed both of his fists into the other's chest, trying to take out his anger.
All Wilbur could do was let Tommy use him as a human punching bag. After all he heard, he deserved all this. Tommy needed to let it all out one way or another. It took a while, but the blonde began to get tired. His punches soon became weak ineffectual hits. The older brother took this moment to wrap his arms around Tommy and hold him.
Tommy's eyes widened, but soon he found himself embracing the hug.
"I'm sorry..." Wilbur whispered sincerely. He was sorry, truly. Despite everything, Tommy was still his little brother, and Wilbur was supposed to protect him. Yet he didn't. It was his fault for not being there for Tommy, but he couldn't change the past now. He swore to change or at least show people he changed.
It was worth changing, for Tommy. For the memories they shared in their childhood home, for the memories of early L'manburg. He knew Tommy would never be the same, but the least he could do was provide the other help and comfort.
The two stayed holding each other for at least 10 minutes before deciding to head back. Before they got back to Tommy's, Tommy pulled the brunette over to the bench that held so much history between almost everyone in the smp.
"Wilbur I need you to promise me something."
"What is it?"
"Promise me that you'll be a good brother from here on out."
Wilbur smiled fondly down at his younger brother. "You still act like a child."
Tommy's face flushed red with embarrassment and anger, "No I don't!"
"Do to."
"Do not!"
"Do to."
"I do NOT! Understand me?! Not!"
Wilbur chuckled before pulling the other into a hug. "I promise."
