needless to say, katsuki was utterly shocked once he peeked out of his window to see the sun rising.
he truly did not get a blink of sleep.
"oh, you've got to be fucking joking." he groaned, facepalming.
he had school in less than two hours! how was he going to sleep now? he couldn't sleep...
not without izuku.
the blond huffed before gathering an outfit and heading to the shower, deciding to start his day off a bit earlier.
once he had showered, he'd gotten dressed before leaving out to get coffee. sure, he hated the taste with every particle of his being, but he had to stay up somehow after his unintentional all-nighter.
and with that, his day started as he checked the time, it was time for class. he couldn't help but feel a sudden jitteriness as the idea of seeing izuku finally came into his mind.
though he simply blamed it on the coffee as he quickly made it to class, entering the room and sitting down. as soon as he sat, he felt as if all of the effects he'd thought coffee did, do the complete opposite.
his lids felt heavy and his hands began to shake, he couldn't stop the anxious tapping of his foot on the floor as his mood seemed to grow even more negative than he could ever remember.
he felt like shit. no wonder he hated coffee so much.
"welcome back, i hope you all have had a great weekend." katsuki heard the familiar voice of none other than izuku.
as soon as he walked in, he seemed to notice katsuki's ragged state, his eyes having dark circles as he tried his best not to face plant onto his desk.
though, as much as it worried him, he ignored it for now at least. he needed to be professional at this time.
"as you all know, i've said that i'll be giving out your first assessment later this week. it will contain all that you've learned so far. therefore, starting today you all will have this entire week to study until friday. this assessment will be a basic grade." izuku briefly explained, earning hums of understanding from his students.
and with that, he sat at his desk, scanning and checking the papers at his desk before putting the data into his laptop while the students softly chatted amongst themselves, some setting up study dates while others already got to work.
after a short while, izuku looked up at katsuki who hadn't moved an inch, only staring at him intensely as he forced himself awake. something was wrong. izuku knew it.
"katsuki, come up." he said, sounding as stern and neutral as possible as he looked motioned for him to come to his desk.
the blond sighed as he stood up, his limbs feeling heavy as he dragged himself to izuku's desk. standing in front of him with so much faintness that he could pass out right then and there.
"are you okay?" izuku asked quietly yet not a whisper in an attempt to not draw attention. the blond immediately shook his head, finding no reason to lie. "no.." he said, his lips soon trembling.
"what's wrong?" izuku asked, fighting the urge to pull katsuki into a tight embrace until he felt better. though he couldn't do that, that was the last thing he could do.
katsuki shook his head, looking down at izuku. "fuckin' hell. can we talk outside?" he asked, running a hand through his blond locks.
izuku eagerly nodded before standing up, following katsuki outside without a word to the students.
though, as soon as the door closed, katsuki was pulled into a tight embrace. "deku-!" katsuki gasped despite hugging as well.
with a deep inhale, katsuki felt himself melting in izuku's embrace, the lack of sleep suddenly overcoming him so quickly as if his it were a freight train.
"i couldn't go to sleep at all last night." katsuki admitted as his hands desperately reached up to deku's hair, curling his fingers softly as he sighed with contentment.
izuku hummed, burying his face in the crook of katsuki's neck as he allowed the smaller boy's hands to roam in his hair.
"'m so sleepy. i don't wanna go to class." katsuki pouted. izuku chuckled softly, noticing the blond seemed whinier from the lack of sleep.
"kacchan? i can't come around until i'm through with classes. can you wait for me?" izuku asked, pulling away from katsuki.
the blond whined, not wanting to let go yet he nodded nevertheless, pulling away as well. "i'll try." he said with a sigh.
"alright then, let's go." izuku said before opening the door for their class once more to let the blond in. though as he did, he happened to look up and see another young adult standing not too far from where the two had been standing within the bare hallway.
her expression seemed a bit knowing as their eyes met. everything around them had slowed down as izuku didn't dare look away.
for some reason, the girl sent a bad feeling pooling at the base of his stomach as the walked into the class, watching as the girl soon walked away. the entire encounter was... off.
something about her wasn't right.
"oh one more thing, meet me after here during my free period so we could talk about your grades." izuku said sternly, emphasizing the word 'grades'.
katsuki flicked his gaze up to izuku before flushing slightly and nodding. the blond quickly sunk into his seat, his head resting on his desk.
"grades? dude, you're failing a class? that's a first." katsuki heard the voice of none other than eijiro.
katsuki rolled his eyes before forcing himself to sit up in his seat. "far from it, fucker. no matter what, my grades are the best." he smirked cockily despite the sleep that dared force his eyes closed.
"then why...- never mind. anyway, you and professor midoriya seem to get along well. i've never been close to a teacher, must be fun to get extra credit 'n stuff." eijiro sighed, slumping into a chair right next to katsuki.
katsuki scoffed internally. was this fucker really implying that he was a teacher's pet? oh... if only he knew how much more than that they were.
"whatever. leave me alone, 'm tired." katsuki groaned, putting his head down on his desk once more. the redhead only shrugged before turning to talk with denki who he'd promised he would study with.

and with that, katsuki found his day going by excruciatingly slow. he had to slap himself across the face many times in an attempt to not look as pale as he continued to other classes.
though, it all was soon over and katsuki found himself in the empty classroom of izuku's business classroom once more, sitting on his lap as he caressed his hair slowly.
"kacchan, let's go. you know people will wonder if we stay too long." izuku said softly, earning a protesting whine from katsuki.
"fine... i don't feel like walking anymore." katsuki said, earning a soft chuckle from izuku, and felt himself being lifted.
soon enough, they were walking down the empty halls after hours, izuku holding katsuki as if he weighed nothing.
though, despite it all, izuku noticed the familiar figure in the all.
the exact same student from earlier. the girl grinned this time before running away, almost as if she were following him.
izuku sucked his teeth, something about her was definitely wrong. his feet only moved faster as he bought katsuki to his car, setting the utterly exhausted blond into the passenger's seat.
katsuki seemed to smile softly as he opened his eyes and noticed he was in izuku's car and not in his dorm. excitement shook through him and he flushed slightly.
"drive fast." katsuki mumbled softly, grinning from ear to ear at the green-haired man.
izuku only complied, immediately backing out of the parking lot before speeding down the road as if speeding tickets did not exist in this world.
