Laurent's call to Maddy helped her understand that the things happening with Larry hadn't been the same since they'd left London. He carefully omitted Larry's new position and information about the counsel. It didn't feel safe to tell her everything on his heart, but she agreed to help by creating another ritual so they could all get answers. The short time that they'd been back in London revealed so many secrets that everyone felt on edge about what the outcome might be.

Laurent hovered over his brother extremely concerned about the dark circles around his eyes though he slept most of the day, the way he often refused to eat, even when he provided him with his favorite foods. The morning that they were to meet Maddy, Laurent tried to wake us his twin by shaking his shoulder. Larry groaned rolling over to his side facing away from him. Laurent gave him a moment to gather himself. The simple act of touching his brother's shoulder filling him with sadness, a consuming sadness that instantly made him upset.

Slowly he pulled the sheet down over Larry's shoulder noticing a scar that hadn't been there before. The shape of it reminded him of the tall tree in New Orleans where they'd dug to find Lena. The area at the base of the scar looked like a tree trunk, the drooping branches of the tree came down to the area underneath his arm. "Larry how did you get that scarf? Lau asked him moving his fingertips along the lines of the tree. Larry bolted upwards in the bed. "Don't you hear that?" He asked wide-eyed. Laurent closed his eyes to listen. Nothing except the sound of their breath was in the room.

Larry's scar

"My girls are crying, you don't hear it?" Larry asked again disregarding the question about his new scar. Laurent caressed the side of his cheek with the back of his hand. "Maybe you were dreaming bebe?"

Larry pushed back the covers still searching the room for the source of the screaming sounds. "You have to hear it Lau. I'm not crazy." The power shift between them made it hard for Lau to do much more to calm his frantic brother. He wanted to kiss his forehead, to curl up along with him in the bed. Still, he couldn't be sure that Larry's emotional state was safe enough to touch him for more than a few seconds.

"We need to go see Maddy today. Do you remember that we are going to speak with her?" Larry blinked rapidly staring at his twin. The words coming out didn't register, so he nodded in agreement. Laurent left him to start the shower for him. "Can you get in the shower by yourself, or do you need help?" He asked returning to the bedroom. Larry stood in the center of the room naked. Laurent swallowed holding back what he really wanted to say. It had been a while since he'd seen Larry fully naked. His brother's already thin body looked thinner than his. It was the first time they truly didn't look identical anymore.

Larry brushed past him dragging his feet toward the bathroom. Laurent said a silent prayer that Maddy could fix the situation. The way his beloved brother kept wasting away couldn't continue for much longer. Laurent gathered their clothes for the day. Larry came from the bathroom still dripping wet from his shower sitting on the bed. Laurent had to practically dress him because he was so weak. He tried not to touch him too much but had to get the man into his clothes. When he pulled up the briefs on his twin, Larry flinched at his privates being handled. "I'm going to make sure you get better oki?" He said pulling the t-shirt over his afro. Larry leaned into his waist holding onto him.
