Chapter Twenty
Omniscient
Two Days Before Christmas

Rushing into the hospital, Kya hurried over to the elevators constantly hitting the up button. Tina just called letting her know that there has been a change in her dads health and she was seconds from losing it.

"Come on, come ooon!" She said pressing the button a few more times. When the doors finally opened she rushed on and pressed his floor. Her heart was racing so fast and she couldn't stay still so she just paced until the elevator stopped again. Climbing off she ran to his room, people were looking at her like she was insane but she didn't care.

Getting to his room, she rushed inside but quickly stopped once she saw what was going on.

"Hey Ky." Her dad said with a big smile on his face.

"Oh my god." Kyra covered her mouth as tears filled her eyes.

"Come here." Adam held his arms out and she wasted no time giving him the biggest hug.

"I thought this was going to turn out so bad. I really thought I was going to lose you."

"I'm not going anywhere sweetie, just needed a little rest that's all. I want to thank you for being here. I heard everything you said."

"Of course I'm going to be here. I'm sorry for how I've been acting lately. You didn't deserve that."

"I accused you of working with your mom instead of asking. You had every right to be mad at me Kyra. I know over the years I haven't been the best father but we're supposed to be working on that. I'm going to get better with my communication, everything is going to be okay."

Kyra just buried her face more into her dads chest and cried even more. She had prayed so hard that he would make it out of this and when he did, she was going to fix everything between them. She didn't want her mom to succeed in ruining what they had already worked on.

Doctors were in and out the room for hours so it was hard for Kyra to talk to her dad. But once things started calming down she wasted no time grabbing a seat and sitting next to him.

"So what's been going on with you besides sitting up here with me?" Adam asked while grabbing on to her hand.

Kyra laughed. "Nothing at all. If I wasn't at school, I was here  with you. That's what my life has consisted of lately."

"What about Eric? I know you made time for him."

"I'd stop by after leaving here but we're both always so exhausted so it's just to sleep, we might eat breakfast together but that's all."

"Ky, you didn't have to shut everybody else out because of me."

"First of all, you're my father. You come first until the day I have a ring on my finger. Secondly, things have been a little awkward with me and Eric. Not completely but still."

"Awkward how?"

"Well, a couple weeks ago I met his parents. Now his mom, love her. She's amazing. But his dad hates me because I come from a wealthy family. I don't know exactly what he told Eric but I can tell it got into his head a little bit."
