Chapter TwentyFive Eric Powell The Next Day
"Aye Nigga."
I felt somebody tap my foot but I didn't budge because I'm the only person here so I gotta be tripping.
"I know you hear me, wake yo ass up."
I peeled my eyes open then stared in front of me for a while before finally looking over my shoulder and when I saw who it was I instantly jumped up. "What the fuck?!"
"Wassup baby bro."
"Tyler?!"
"Yeah, didn't expect to see me here huh?"
"Am I dead?"
"No dummy just sleep. Mama asked me to come talk to you, we had a long talk a couple weeks ago."
"Is she dead?" I asked ready to start panicking.
Tyler just shook his head. "You really are stupid."
"I'm not I'm just shocked that's all...I've just been begging you to come and see me. I thought you were ignoring me."
"Never, I'm always with you. I've stopped you from doing a lot of dumb shit actually, you just didn't know it was me."
"Oh I knew." I laughed.
"I don't have long I just wanted to see where your head was about everything."
"You mean the baby?"
"Yeah....I don't like how you going about this E. It's giving coward vibes and I really ain't feeling it."
"I just had to figure shit out, I'm not trying to abandon nobody. A baby is a huge responsibility and that's why you was quick to pay the fine whenever a girl came to you knocked up."
"Okay but the goal is to not be me but be better than me. And these girls were never on the same level as Kyra. Just sex and that's it. Why would I have child with them but if I had a solid girl that I knew loved and cared about me the way your girl does you, I would've stepped up and did my job."
"How am I supposed to take care of a kid Ty?"
"You figure it out E. You want to be selfish and it's nothing wrong with that but this is a different type of situation. It's crazy, we don't have no problem fucking a girl but when they end up pregnant we so surprised and don't know what to do. And I do recall Kyra's dad offering you a job that gives you more than enough to raise a baby and a big ass house! He's setting you up for success. Shit if that was me, I would've signed right away and asked how many more kids do he want us to have."
