Hi guys thanks for reading and ilysm.

Third person pov

The sunlight is like daggers piercing through his eyes and into his skull and the scent of gunpowder and stale blood is thick and cloying in the air after the attack on Port Royale.

Will wakes to the town bustling with activity as people try their best to fix their homes and stores. There are a few pigs and more chickens than Will thought there were in the town, running through the streets as their owners search frantically for their animals.

Everyone's tensions are running high in case the pirates were to come back tonight, although there really isn't much they could do to stop it from happening again.

Will sits up and winces when he runs his hands through this hair, trying to assess the extent of the damage. He shoos the chickens away from him and stands up, almost falling when his vision swims and he almost blacks out.

He manages to remain upright and stumbles to were he can see Norrington's emergency base.

A few soldiers are carrying the bodies to a pile on the far side of the battlements to make way for the carts of powder and shot that is being moved onto the Interceptor.

Will almost pukes at the sheer number of bodies in the pile before looking over to the soldiers who managed to survive the last night, many of them have suffered various broken bones, third degree burns and spontaneous dismemberment which makes Will thankful that he had only been knocked out.

He makes his way to the Commodore, feeling sick to his stomach.

"They've taken her. They've taken Elizabeth!"

"Private! Remove this man," Norrington commands and a man steps forward to escort Will out of the battlements but Will remains standing in front of Norrington.

"We have to hunt them down. We must save her!" Will insists.

"And where do you propose we start?" the Governor asks, his voice breaking with emotion, "if you have any information concerning my daughter, please share it!"

"... Jack Sparrow, he talked about the Pearl, did he not?" Will asks, not daring to believe what he was thinking, "can't we ask him where it is? If we make a deal with him, he can lead us to it!"

The Governor stares at Will as if he'd gone insane, but Will can understand that reaction, what really gets to him is that Norrington doesn't even look up from his stupid map that's clearly not helping anyone.

"No...the pirates that attacked this fort left Jack in his cell, ergo they are not his allies. Governor we will established their most likely course--" Norrington says, in his perfectly calm and collected tone as if his fiancé hadn't just been taken by some bloodthirsty pirates.

"That's not good enough!" Will shouts, interrupting whatever military jargon Norrington had been spewing and throws his axe into the map.

"Mr. Turner, you are not a military man, you are not a sailor, you are a blacksmith. This is not the moment for rash action!" Norrington reprimands, pulling Will aside, "do not make the mistake of thinking you are the only man here who cares for Elizabeth."

Will looks at Norrington in utter confusion. Did the Commodore think that Will cared about Elizabeth in that way? That's impossible. Will only ever worried about her as a brother would his sister, he could never think of her in that way.

As Will walks back to the smithery he suddenly turns right, then left, then left again before taking a deep breath.

If now was not the time for rash action, when was? If the Commodore wasn't willing to do the only logical thing there was to be done then Will would do it, for Elizabeth's safety.
