#Heather Chandler's POV:

I woke up this morning, it was the light shining through my curtains that had wakened me.
I stood up and got my stuff ready for another shitty day of school, I genuinely couldn't be bothered going again, though I had to get up because there was traffic on my street and I had to drive to school.
I got dressed then done my make up, which did approximately take an hour to do, although as I always say, It doesn't matter how long it takes or expensive it is, as long as I look good.
That's something that you need to do in school if you want to fit in, thankfully I was the most popular girl in school so it wasn't much of a problem for me, girls wanted to be me and boys wanted to be with me, either way it was a win-win because everyone in the school feared me.

Once I had finished my hair and make up I walked downstairs and put my shoes on.
It was cold outside but I always told myself that I have to go into school looking my best, so that always meant my patterned skirt, and red top, it didn't really keep me warm that isn't important in my eyes.
Before I left I saw a picture on the counter in the hallway, on it was me, my mom, and my dad. We all looked really happy, that was just about the only happy moment I can remember of our family before everything blew up. These days I understand a bit more of why my mom left, but as much as I hate to admit it, it still hurts, and I miss her. Though I can't show these feelings in public.

When I turned the key to open the door I heard my dad come from absolutely no where behind me. "Remember not to show any weakness sweetheart, you don't get anywhere in life by being nice, do you?"
"No father." I responded,
"Good girl." He grinned.
Then I walked out the door.
I took my keys out of my purse and walked towards the car, the neighbours always stared when I left, but it wasn't for the same reason. The truth was the street was still on edge after hearing the rumours about what happened to my mom, and what my dad had done to her. I don't know how they all figured it out or if someone saw and just never told the cops, but it was almost like they were looking to make sure I was okay and I wasn't hurt.
I knew this because one time when I was younger I fell in the playground in school, and had a bruise on my eye, when I came out my house the next day I got approached by like 2 different families asking if I was okay and if my dad was still drinking, to that I ofcourse responded yes. When I got into the car I put my seat belt on and drove to school, still trying to avoid the traffic as much as I can, Thankfully the main road was open so I just went through there and got to school on time.
