                                                                                                  Hizashi POV

He was absolutely perfect, well minus the whole running from us thing. Shouta seems to think there's some deeper reason behind him running but I think he may just be spooked that his soulmates are heroes. I mean it would make sense.

Once Shouta and I got his file we decided to just head home. Neither of us talked much, we were both deep in thought.

Once we got home, we had a simple dinner of leftovers and headed to the bedroom.

"Why do you think he ran?" Shouta asked as he crawled into bed next to me.

"I don't know, but Sho, how are we supposed to convince him to be with us if he won't even hold a single conversation."

"About that," he started, "He and I got the chance to chat in the waiting room, before the second exam." he sounded guilty.

"Really? What did he say, did he give anything away that might help us get closer to him?"

I couldn't help but to be excited. I mean, what if this little conversation they had helps us understand him better and leads us to being with him sooner.

"I don't understand him, at first he played dumb like he didn't know who I was, then he goes cold. His eyes turned into something else, he was cold and hurt and there was just something there that shouldn't be present in a kid his age." his voice started to crack. "Hizashi, we have to help him somehow."

I hold him close, if something is going on in Izuku's home life we need to know more about him so that we can step in if something bad happens. I pull his file from the bedside table and open it so Shouta can see as well.

"He's quirkless? There's no way that he doesn't have a quirk, he escaped me within seconds of running after the robbery. Nobody has ever gotten away that easily, barely anyone has gotten away."

"Well it looks like we might know why he seemed so cold at least, remember how kids treated you because you didn't have a flashy quirk? Imagine how bad it must be now, especially since the quirkless population is so low."

"God, he must've been basically abused his whole life, there's nothing on his home life though so maybe that part of his life is still good, yeah?"

Neither of us wanted to admit it but being pros, we see the worst cases first hand. Most of the abuse cases we see are quirkless kids, their parents wanted to raise a hero, and being a quirkless hero is a suicide mission most of the time.

"We'll keep a close eye on him and you can go to his address after your patrol tomorrow night alright? We just found him and we aren't letting him go anytime soon." Shouta turned around when I finished speaking and pulled me close, so that I was laying down with him. I laid on his chest and let him hold me. He kissed the top of my head and whispered to me before we fell asleep.

"I will protect him Hizashi, I'll bring him home to us."
