you've never asked me where my name came from.
we've sat so many times reading comic books and reading in my bedroom, but not once did you ask.
I love hearing you go on and on about your Spiderman #64 but sometimes I wish you'd look up from your comic book and see me instead.
we read alot together in my cave.
i don't really do typical comics. I love seeking out weird ones or queer ones or ones that take place along the African American diaspora.
but does it matter? i just wish you'd look at me for once.
you sit sometimes on the floor with me and laugh at my stacks of other books around me in my cave.
"I love Dune," I say.
"I love you," you say. Only to laugh and say you're just kidding while you wink dramatically.
but I love you secretly.
I watch as your soft hair falls down just past your ear. And how your curvy chest looks in your soft flannel shirt that you love so much.
you're the girl of my dreams, but you'd never know it.
I just tuck my heart away in my oversized hoodie and my large big framed glasses.
you're so beautiful. I love the way you look in your jeans when you sit on the floor with your knee bent.
i kinda wish you'd ask me bout my name.
maybe my secret would be revealed.
or maybe not.
the truth is i love the sonic waves of the pronunciation of Muad'Dib from Dune and as I started to sound it out and play with its sounds I fell on my name, Ju'ran. And it felt so perfect and right. And since I wanted to feel those vibrations with every letter and every word for all eternity....well then I'll just thought to add the alphabet.
You never speak it out loud enough to me, my chosen name. I wait anxiously to hear you say it.
I daydream about you kissing me as you say it so I can feel the vibrations of it's sound moving from you through me.
All I want is you, but I'll keep my love for you to myself for now. I hope to hear you on my lips someday though.
Just wish I could kiss you. But for now I'll settle for hearing you go on about.....that Spiderman #64.
