The land of Elysia has been ruled by its true rulers for centuries -- by the Elysians. But when a group of potent beings start utilising their powers to the fullest, they began taking over any lands that their eyes landed on -- and Elysia just seems to be their first target because of its slow downfall from its apex.
The story follows the journey of the young prince Edric, of the beliefs that he had to bury along with his loved ones, of the degradation he had to go through, of the lies that he uttered to stay alive and of the cruel things he had to do in order to reach the pinnacle of all the kingdoms.
This is the story of Edric. The boy who tried, and lost.

as i've already mentioned this in the beginning of the story that this is the prequel to Flames of Ember so i don't think i've to say it again xD.
there's no restriction to read this—you can read this before reading the original book or after reading the original book. but, reading this before the original book may clear the concept of renèi a bit more. :)
also, everything that will happen here happened twenty five years ago if i compare the year gap to the original book-so edric is between the age of eighteen and nineteen :) same goes with miranda.
