Arnaaluk is a massive female Tannin who lives in the Shimmering Sea. She was born in the coastal waters near Elifga valley and Imoreith Tundra. As a child, she was the oldest out of three, she learned firsthand that even though she was an apex predator, many dangerous creatures wanted to make a meal out of her. One of her younger siblings was eaten by a giant mermaid before her mother ate said mermaid. The other sibling was eaten by an adult Tannin. After this, she stayed near the coast until she became an adult. One day, Arnaaluk came across a small village of humans living on an island near Elifga valley. The villagers were being terrorized by a Jotun. For reasons even she doesn't know, Arnaaluk swam over and fought the Jotun before swallowing her whole. The village chieftain thanked her and asked her to be their guardian protector. With great reluctance, Arnaaluk agreed to protect them from other giant predators and the occasional pirate. One day, she met a certain Jotun with a metal sphere that zapped her. After talking, she became friends with Fenja and Grip.

Description: Arnaaluk is 233ft tall and 700ft long. She has shoulder-length black hair, light brown skin, sky blue eyes, black scales on her lower half with grey spots, a powerful striped tail with a dorsal fin made of cartilage. She wears a bra made from a ship sail, it was given to her by the villagers when she rescued them from the jotun. Her body is athletic and streamlined, allowing her to swim at speeds of 30 mph and dive at a depth of 3000ft for about 10 hours.

Characteristics: Arnaaluk had learned from a young age that life in the Shimmering Sea can be dangerous. After losing her siblings, Arnaaluk became more vigilant and determined to not become someone else's dinner by staying in the shallows. Once she became an adult, Arnaaluk began to become bolder and venture out into open water. She remains vigilant when she's out in the deep blue sea or when she patrols the island. However, she does have a soft spot for children who will often climb on her back and play with her or listen to her stories. At first, the parents were cautious about their children hanging around a giant predator, but eventually, they warmed up to her. Once she lets down her guard, she's very playful and loves to play pranks on the villagers and other predators she's friends with. However, she doesn't quite understand human customs, like how it's not a good idea to place water mines outside the lagoon so the kids could swim, she means well, but she can be hyper-vigilant at times.

Special Abilities: Arnaaluk has a keen sense of smell and excellent vision. She can swim 30 mph and dive 3000ft while holding her breath for up to 10 hours. Due to her streamlined body, she is highly agile and maneuverable. She can also break through the ice to catch her prey.

Hunting Habits: Though Arnaaluk is an apex predator, she will mostly avoid eating the smaller races due to not being very filling, unless it's a ship. When some other predator is threatening the village, she bursts out of the water like a torpedo and drags them beneath the frigid waves. She wrestles with them or does a death roll before swallowing them whole. Sometimes, she'll smash through the ice and drag her prey beneath the ice. She mostly doesn't eat humans or other small races due to not being enough to fill her monstrous appetite. However, she will attack pirate ships that pass through her territory and fill her belly with the entire crew.
