I gained consciousness hearing yelling that sounded close by. I slowly opened my eyes and noticed I was in an empty room with only a small twin bed in the corner. I sat up but in an instant I was pushed down by a large, pale hand in an instant."Stay laying down; you will hurt yourself further if you try getting up." The voice said resonating through my body. I glanced up expecting to only get a glimpse of the voice's owner, but instead my white eyes locked with dark abysses. I stared deep in them trying to find something, anything. Emotion or life was void from them; nothing but an empty black hole pulling me deeper in them wanting to find some truth of life within them. I found none.
"Am I dead? What happened to me?" I remembered the pain and the peaceful feeling of death taking over but what caused that was lost deep in my memories.
"You were taking the Anbu Black Ops test and were caught in my Gen jutsu. Your body started shutting down because of the pain being experienced." The deep voiced lifeless man said.
Memories flooded into my mind as the horrible images of death surrounded me flooded. I closed my eyes wishing the images away but they wouldn't leave. I forced my eyes open to look around and forget about the horror movie forming itself in my mind.
"If you hadn't of targeted her specifically she could have passed the test. You were careless with your jutsu trying to kill an innocent women." A blonde haired women in the corner said emerging from the corner.
"Lord Hokage!" my instinct to bow and show respect shot through my nerves forcing my body to push past the hand holding me down and sit up bowing. Instantly I felt dizzy and sick. I grabbed the blankets throwing them to the side as I stumbled to a small bathroom adjacent from the bed. I barely reached the toilet as stomach acid forced its way up and out.
I heard light footsteps come up behind me. The same pale hands came up behind me and grabbed my indigo hair way from my face as I finished my vulgar side effects of the jutsu. "I'm sorry." I mumbled as I grabbed a towel to wipe my mouth and sweat from my forehead.
At first everything was silent as I stood up shaking and walked to the sink to clean up. I saw Tsundae come up behind the onyx eyed man and kick him in the shin. He winced and for a moment life flashed through his eyes, then he bowed to me.
"I should be apologizing. When you first entered my jutsu you seemed weak, yet, you made it farther than most ninjas. I wanted to find your limit. As much as I targeted you I couldn't find it until it was too late. I went too far and I'm deeply sorry." He said.
I turned around and bowed to him as well. "I forgive you I understand why you'd think I was weak." That was the first time I got a look at his face. Hard jaw line, black eyes, dark hair, pale skin, and toned muscles. I've seen him before. Who was he again?
As if reading my mind he stretched out his hand for a handshake. I placed my hand in his and almost gasped when my hand was completely engulfed into his. "Sasuke.Sasuke Uchiha." He said slowly lifting my hand up and down in a shaking manner.
"Hinata. Hinata Hyuuga." I said back meekly intimidated slightly by his stare. He let go of my hand and got on his knees bowing his head to the floor. I looked at him confused. If I remembered correctly he was the leader of the top Anbu Black Ops team. If anything I should be bowing to him.
"I know I have greatly injured you and have caused much distrust already between us, but if you wish to become a part of the Anbu so badly that you would strive so hard that your heart stops I would be honored to have you as a medical ninja on my team."
My voice caught in my throat and I knew this had to be a dream. It was. He never got down on his knees he merely stayed standing looking at me with his cold eyes. I snapped out of my day dream just as I heard him insult me and my poor ninja skills.
"I realize you wish to become part of the Anbu but with your skills you'll die within the first week. You can hardly defend yourself. I read your bio and know you wish to only become a medical ninja, but if my team has to be protecting their own medical ninja more lives will be lost. I'm sorry but you failed." He turned away ready to leave, but before he made it to the door the Hokage stopped him.
"Not so fast. You put Hinata's life in danger just because she lasted longer than the ninjas who had a little bit of promise. I know you already apologized, but she is the best hope for a top medical ninja for your team. She's from the Hyuuga clan and has the best chakra control." She said coldly to the Uchiha.
"She'll die out there. She needs better training to defend herself."
Tsundae smiled evilly and laughed a bone chilly laugh. "That's why you will train her. You train her until she is ready and then I will assign you a mission to test how good your team really is."
Sasuke grimaced obviously hating the idea of having to train a weak ex-heir. Tsundae had obviously offended him by indicating that he had to prove the strength of his team to her when everyone knew they were the best even without a medical ninja.
"Fine. I'll teach the little mouse how to fly." He said through gritted teeth as if it was impossible. He then turned to me and looked me over slowly. I suddenly felt the urge to cover myself under his piercing eyes. "You should be ready to train in two days. If you need any longer than you are not Anbu Black Ops material. Meet me at the Anbu training grounds in two days at dawn."
I nodded swallowing the lump in my throat as he turned away and left pushing past the Hokage. I waited for her to leave but she stood there staring me down just as Sasuke did.
"Don't make me regret my decision."
She turned and left. As soon as the door closed my head began spinning. Darkness obscured my vision as the world around me disappeared from existence. The last thing I remembered was my body hitting the cold stone floor.
