"I heard about what happened. I'm sorry, Baek." Junmyeon could only sympathize for his friend. "Are you really sure you have to do this?"
Baekhyun sighed for what he believed was his hundreth time that day. He doesn't even have any energy left to explain.
"Thank you, Junmyeon." His eyes sting due to another set of forming tears. "Thank you for being my friend." He continued, before grabbing the box filled with his office supplies and personal belongings. He just submitted his resignation letter effective today. He doesn't mind being blacklisted from the company for not rendering days as what his contract requires. He has no plans of returning to this shitty company anyway.
Baekhyun walked along the hallway of their production floor. Along the way, he couldn't avoid passing a certain person's seat, though it's empty at the moment. He grabbed the chance to stare on the framed photo standing proudly beside the seat owner's monitor. Two people who looked so in love were smiling on the camera, one was flashing his bright, wide smile, while the other male was lovingly staring at him.
It was one of his best memories with Chanyeol, and bitterness flowed his system as he slammed the frame facing down, bitterly chuckling at himself before he looked back and walked away. He would love to take the photo with him to throw it to the garbage bin himself, but he chose not to do anything for Chanyeol from this moment on.
Because, what's the point anyway? No matter what sacrifices he does for the taller, he only ends up being misunderstood.
Baekhyun bit his lip to prevent himself from crying once again. Earlier that night, he thought he already drained his eyes enough to be fully emptied of tears but he thought wrong. Knowing the fact that his boyfriend—or ex, rather—chose to trust other people instead of him critically hurts his pride. The fact that he left him earlier, crying and begging for the taller to listen but to no avail.. Baekhyun just had enough of it.
Chanyeol chose his pride over him and Baekhyun is so done.
"All I did for you and this is what I got." He, again, chuckled bitterly. And as he totally stepped out of the building, he chose to do what Chanyeol also did—to stop trying to save their relationship any longer.
And maybe he knows that he's about to regret it for years, but maybe he doesn't care anymore.

His senses were slowly being awakened by the smell of something, and the sound of what he thinks is a mess happening probably in his kitchen. Baekhyun, however, couldn't find it in him to worry as the soothing scent he's currently inhaling is slowly lulling him back to sleep. The warm blanket around his body doesn't help either, and neither does the gentle taps he's feeling on his lower back.
Baekhyun felt like he's being babied at the moment and he doesn't want to complain—except when he realised that his blanket isn't an actual blanket, but a person rather.
And not only does it surprise him, but the familiar scent finally snapped a locked part of his memories open. Jolting awake, he quickly shoved his body away from Chanyeol's embrace, undecided whether he'd be embarrassed or angry.
He chose the latter.
"What the fvck?" He snapped, glaring towards the giant. The way Chanyeol's messy hair looks, and how puffy his eyes still are hints that he also just got awake. Though his unapologetic expression only made Baekhyun fume in anger even more.
"Why the fvck were you hugging me--!"
"What?" The taller asked him, nonchalantly. "I thought it's okay since you allowed it last night--" He tried to reason but forgot how much of a diva Baekhyun is during mornings, throwing tantrums like a child as he could easily get pissed.
