It is just another normal day at work. Baekhyun kept himself in his desk, with only lunch and bathroom as a break, finishing all the tasks he has for the day. He couldn't afford spending more hours inside this loud and busy office. Not that he isn't passionate about working anymore. In fact, he is, for the sake of the above average salary he has—not minding whether or not he's actually enjoying his job. Deep inside, he misses his previous job where all he does is bury himself in a desk and deal with error of the code he made himself.
Those days where the only problem he had was how to fix the bugs in production and how to cater another enhancement request from their client.
Programming was his passion, until Hannah came to his life.
Now, it doesn't matter if all he does all day is to deal with the rants of furious customers of the account he supports as a chat specialist.
If it isn't for the salary he has and his most-anticipated promotion, he wouldn't last for another year in this job.
If it isn't for Hannah, Baekhyun already quitted a long time ago.
Speaking of his ever so lovely daughter, Baekhyun's face automatically lit up the moment the clock ticked at 5PM. He's finally out of work!
Of course he didn't miss the look of his manager who's obviously about to ask him to extend for another hour or two today. Baekhyun politely smiled.
"Minseok Hyung~" He said with a tune, aiming to appear cute to the older.
Minseok rolled his eyes. "Don't Minseok Hyung me." He said, crossing his arms. "You sure you couldn't extend--"
"You know I can't, Hyung." Baekhyun said, apologetically, making his boss giggle.
"I was just messing with you." He stated with a smirk. "Go and fetch your daughter before she put the blame to me again because of her tardy-assed father."
The statement made Baekhyun laugh. "Don't worry. I'll tell her it isn't her godfather's fault this time." He said, making Minseok's eyes roll.
"Oh stop doing that. You're starting to adapt with Jongdae's mannerisms, and I don't know if it is good or bad." Baekhyun continued teasing as he completely packed his things.
Minseok only blushed, tongue-tied over his friend's remark. He should've known better than tell Baekhyun about his little crush over the new joiner in their team. He didn't want to appear creepy to him, nor make him feel uncomfortable once he finds out. Minseok truly hopes Baekhyun would keep his word about 'keeping his mouth shut' despite all these teasing.
Before Baekhyun could retort another statement, he dismissed him by lightly pushing him out of the office, fist curling the messy collar of the other's polo shirt.
Baekhyun laughed his way out.
-*-
His office isn't too far from Hannah's day care. In fact, it only takes him about ten to fifteen minutes of walk to get there. But even though he managed to reach there after exactly twelve minutes, Baekhyun is definitely late this time.
"She was fetched by a tall man earlier." Wendy said, eyes obviously in complete shock and worry. "She said he was her Dada-- I'm-- I'm sorry Baek-"
Baekhyun's mind turned into a mess.
Dada? He couldn't believe the possibilities.
It can't be--
"Park-- fvcking-Chanyeol!" He muttered under his breathe, tone exudes of anger. The poor teacher doesn't know what to do about the situation. It is only right to put the blame on her.
