ricky and nini are both stars in their own right, and great friends, but a relationship between them was never even discussed until that faithful drunken night.

She joined theater, dance and cheerleading with ease. No one had wanted to turn her down because she was just that good, even if it was halfway through their sophomore year.
"Are you in the play?" She asked Ricky, who was fingering his guitar lackadaisically, not really thinking much of it.
"Are you talking to me?" He asked, even though they were the only two people in the area.
"Yeah." She looked around. "Are you blind? There's no one else sitting here, dude." She didn't mean to come off with such an attitude, but she couldn't help it. Years of being "the transfer student," would do that to you. It was always eat or be eaten for her.
He ignored it, because she wasactually talking to him. "Uh... yeah I'm in the play. I'm playing Romeo." He mumbled.
"Hasn't your mother ever told you not to mumble?"
He didn't want to ruin this interaction with adding the fact that his mother had left him and his father when he was five, so instead he said, "Nah, she never told me that," with a little chuckle in his voice; she seemed a little pushy and rude, but it was a rudeness he grew to love.
"You have got to be more confident. I mean, you're the lead right?" She urged, stepping closer to him.
"I mean, yeah." No one besides his dad or the drama teacher had ever really pushed him to be more confident, or truly saw his talent before her.
"So that must mean you're talented."
"I'm okay." He shrugged, and she rolled her eyes.
"Come on Romeo, you're killing me here."
He laughed. "Okay... I... I can sing and... and act. I play the piano and a little guitar too." He motioned the instrument towards her.
"That makes more sense, Romeo. We can work with that." She smiled as their drama teacher made her way into the room along with Sterling and the others in the play.
"Ugh, this is so lame." Sterling fussed as she walked up to Gina.
"Then why are you here again?" Gina asked with scrunched eyebrows as Sterling rested her elbow on Gina's shoulder. Sterling didn't really seem to mind her attitude either, maybe it was just her trademark.
"Gi, my mother is the drama teacher. She wants me to harness my talents or whatever." She rolled her eyes. "I'm just here painting sets." She gestured to the half-painted castle.
"Well you're not very good at it." Gina laughed, "Maybe you'd be better at acting. You sure have your mom fooled that you're the perfect little angel." She teased, batting her lashes with her hands under her chin.
