Nathan

Saying goodbye to the last of our guests Mia slumps down in my arms as we're waving goodbye to Sully and Jules.

"Everything was beautiful baby, you girls did amazing," I tell her, wrapping my arms around her and kissing her on the head.

She turns around to face me wrapping her arms around my waist giving me a peck on the lips. "Thank you babe, it was fun. Do you think Ricky would mind if we take a drive?"

I give her a suspicious look wondering what she has planned.

"No, I think he mentioned he was going to meet up with some of his buddies from here anyway," I tell her, leading her inside and up to our room.

"Okay, perfect, get changed. Take a ride with me," she says as she kisses me one last time and heads into the bathroom.

I head down the hall to Ricky's room to see what he's up to and catch him buttoning up a dress shirt.

"Wow, someone must be planning to get laid," I tell him as I lean against the door frame.

"Oh yeah that's exactly the plan while I'm at Tucks house," he says to me chuckling, referring to his buddies house.

"Why are you dressing up then?" I ask him wondering why he would wear a dress shirt to hang with the boys.

"Oh I'm just trying this on. Mia gave it to me as a gift to wear to your wedding. You really snatched a good one there Reese," fuck yeah I did. Mia is what every guy wants in a girl.

I hear it all the time from the guys on my team, even from other teams. And I swear it takes everything in me not to fucking smash every single one of their faces when I catch them checking her out. Most don't act on it, unless you're Erik Davidson or Max Thorton. Too bad I can't fight Davidson since he's my teammate. But I think Thorton got the hint when we faced each other last in Vancouver.

"I know I'm one lucky asshole that's for sure. We're actually heading out for a bit. Will you be good here? You know how to get in and out of the garage?" he answers me with a nod before I turn around and head back to our room.

Mia has already changed out of her dress into casual clothes.

"I'll be quick and meet you downstairs baby," I kiss her check heading to the closet to change.

I throw on a pair of joggers and my Leafs hoodie and cover my head with a grey beanie. I head downstairs to throw on my winter vest when I see Mia wearing her matching one. So what if I'm obsessed with my fiancé and like for us to have matching clothes sometimes. Sue me. She's already in the driver's seat when I head to the garage which surprises me since she usually hates driving.

"Well if this isn't a surprise," I tell her with a hint of humour in my tone, shutting the passenger door.

"I just wanted to surprise you so I want to drive us there," she says, backing out of the garage and down the driveway.

I just turn and smile at her watching how fucking adorable she looks when she drives. Her concentration is so hot. The way she sticks her tongue out when she's turning and holding the steering wheel tightly. I put my hand on her thigh, rubbing it softly to soothe her nervousness.

"What's wrong baby? You're nervous?" I ask her wondering what she's up to that has got her so nervous to be with me. She's never nervous around me. We passed all those feelings in college.

She doesn't answer and chews on her bottom lip looking like she doesn't know what to say.

I tap her leg lightly to try to get her attention when we stop at a red light. "Hey, look at me. What's wrong? Talk to me," she finally turns to look at me looking...unsure? Which is odd and kind of freaking me out.
