Mia
"Oh my God, he was so hot Mia, you have to admit he was hot. Listening to him talk for only an hour wasn't enough," now I know why Rebecca wanted to come on this trip so badly. To watch the hot lawyers give presentations.
We just finished our last presentation of the day, Rebecca and the other girls cannot shut up about all the men here. I obviously agree that there is a bunch of great eye candy here but absolutely none that measure up to my sweet thing back home. Speaking of Nate, I quickly check the time on my phone making sure I have enough time to go to the hotel and change before I head over to the hotel lobby to watch his game. I text Jules who's currently at the arena to make sure Nate's okay since I haven't missed one of his home games ever.
Me: How was his warm-up? Looking ready to play?
I wait for her reply knowing she probably has Alex with her and texting around a baby who is constantly moving in your lap is not easy. Jules' phone has gone flying out of her hand more times than I can count. She finally replies after a few minutes.
Jules: He's great just like every other warm-up, stop worrying too much, he knows you're watching.
Phew. Okay he's great Mia. Just get to a TV.
"I'm heading to the hotel to change and I'm going to catch the game in the lobby bar." I tell Rebecca and the other girls.
"Ouu great idea Mia, let's all go so we can watch Mia's sexy hot fiancé kick some ass," I roll my eyes at her as we all get into the company provided car, which is more like a limo, and head back to the hotel.
"You look nervous Mia, chillax, lover boy will be fine without you for one game." Rebecca tells me noticing my fidgeting hands.
"Two games Becs. He needs to play two games without me," I tell her, making her roll her eyes at me now.
"Before you know it he will be here, making us all feel very single as if nothing has changed. We already got past the first week. Just a few more days to go." I smile at her reassuring her that I'm fine.
When we arrive at the hotel I head up to my room. Nate made sure I didn't have to share a room with anyone so that we could talk comfortably. He also made sure to upgrade me to a suite so when he comes there's enough room for both of us. I guess the privacy of my own room came in handy since we don't have a single conversation without Nate asking me what I'm wearing which usually leads to a bunch of other fun stuff.
I throw on my Leafs jersey with Nate's name on the back, tie my hair up to a high pony, and throw on my glasses. I pair my oversized jersey with a cute pair of black skinny jeans and my white low top converse. I grab my phone and roomkey and head to the lobby bar where Rebecca and most of our staff are lingering around with people from other branch companies. I find a seat at the bar directly in front of the huge TV and smile instantly when I see Nate lined up at the blue line while the National Anthem is going on. Perfect timing.
I order a Sprite and a salad knowing I don't want to drink any alcohol since I want to make sure I catch the whole game without falling asleep or getting drunk since I'm already tired from a day at the conference. The game finally starts and Nate looks good. He always does. He makes the passes he is supposed to make, clears the puck when it needs to be cleared and even delivers the nicest assist to Lukas Edwards, one of the Leafs rookies, rewarding him with his first NHL goal. I cheer like I always do even if they can't hear me I can't help myself from getting excited. Edwards' goal gives the Leafs a one goal lead against Montreal.
