The month passed slowly. The two friends remained clingy as ever. Seungmin thought about his ex a lot and addressed his feelings. He talked them out with other friends, sought advice from people online, did what he could to help himself.
Another month passed after that. Seungmin said nothing, even though he noticed the month had gone by. He needed more time than he thought.
His feelings never changed, though. Honestly, they grew. He would catch the other staring at him, admiring him from afar. Whenever the elder walked into the room, Seungmin felt his heart jump. He could instantly smile.
Changbin had serious doubts about Seungmin's feelings toward him. He thought the boy had just attached himself to him because he was always there to help him. He was so wrong.
The two enjoyed each other's company a lot. They'd hang out so much that their other friends were beginning to talk. They'd tease them. Chan even pulled Changbin aside and questioned it. All Changbin could say was that Seungmin was healing.
The elder was still afraid that Seungmin's feelings would disappear after some time. He tried his best to seal those thoughts off, but sometimes, they got ahold of him tightly. It was just something he couldn't shake off or throw away.
Yet every time those fears rose up, the younger was quick to dispose of them himself. He'd come up behind Changbin and hug him, burying his face into his neck. Or he'd sit in the other's lap, making himself comfortable for the rest of the night. Things like that.
As of now, the boys were standing in the kitchen. Seungmin was cooking while Changbin stayed far away from anything he might screw up.
"Seungmin?"
"Yes?"
Changbin looks up at the ceiling, worried about the conversation he had prepared. "Do you think you're ready to be in another relationship?"
Seungmin pauses, turning the stove heat low. He turns to look at his friend, raising an eyebrow. "Is anyone ever truly ready for something so unpredictable?"
Changbin chuckles, crossing his arms and making his muscles flex on accident. "You're right, but do you think you could stand it? Mentally, I mean."
"I'd like to believe so, yes. I've learned a lot these past few weeks, about myself and all. I think I'm ready to try."
"Do you still like me?"
"What kind of a question is that? Have you seen me? I think I practically love you at this point. Seriously, though. I love you a lot, Binnie."
Relief spreads through Changbin like a forest fire. He smiles, moving forward to wrap his arms around Seungmin's torso. The other smiled as well, loving the attention. He only loved the attention from Changbin.
"Seungmin, would you do me the honor and be my boyfriend?"
"Changbin, I'd love to be your boyfriend."
